One week after the Dead by Daylight and Silent Hill crossover, it is now time for the 4 Year Anniversary Event. From June 23 until July 7, players can unlock new cosmetics for Claudette and The Deathslinger, a very interesting and challenging Golden Crown, and some changes to what exactly waits for players in the fog.

The 4-year mark is an easy time for game developers to slow down, but Dead by Daylight doesn’t appear to be slowing anytime soon. The success of the recent Silent Hill update—which released new Survivor Cheryl Mason and new Killer The Executioner—has surely propelled the game forward even more, and fans are working harder than ever solving DBD puzzles and sacrificing Survivors.

Both Claudette and The Deathslinger will receive new cosmetics as the event goes on, alternating every few days at login with a charm that is available for the whole week. Week 1 (June 23 to June 30) gives players access to the Pecan Crown and Radical Badland Grit for The Deathslinger, as well as Fitted Button-Up for Claudette and a 4 Year Anniversary Charm.

Week 2 (June 30 to July 7) includes Woolen Beret and Skinny Denim cosmetics for Claudette, as well as the Red Peak Jacket for The Deathslinger. Throughout the week, players can also unlock the Year 4 Cake Charm for their hooks. Diligent players simply need to log into the game throughout the event to claim these prizes. There will also be some new items and offerings through the Bloodweb, but those are still surprises for now.

On the difficult—and much more exciting—side of unlocking cosmetics, there is now a Golden Crown that can only be unlocked by being daring and careful. In each match, players can search for a Golden Pillar. Once interacted with, it bestows a golden glow around the player (both Survivors and Killers can access this). This glow is purely cosmetic, but it makes the Survivors easier to find and the Killer easier to flee from. Once a player claims this glow and survives or completes the match, they will unlock the Golden Crown cosmetic, along with some earned bragging rights. Unfortunately, only the original Dead by Daylight characters are able to obtain this cosmetic.

The last addition for the event is one that some players are unhappy with, which is confetti and balloons in the fog, as well as festive hooks. This adds a fun and celebratory feel but may also detract from the horror-goodness that the game is all about. This only lasts through the event, so those who dislike it only have to wait two weeks until its gone.

Dead By Daylight is available now on Android, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
