Although Dead by Daylight features a wide selection of notable killers from some of cinema's most iconic horror films, Behaviour Interactive also has a penchant for creating its own series of twisted killers. From the Japanese-mythology inspired Oni and the grotesque Plague, to the recently released Blight and his corrupting serums, it's clear the minds behind Dead by Daylight have plenty of creepy ideas up their sleeves.

Case in point, the game's recently announced "A Binding of Kin" expansion, which brings a monstrous pair of new killers to the game called "The Twins." Shown off through a cinematic teaser, the horrifying duo are easily some of the most disturbing in Dead by Daylight's lineup of playable killers to date.

For those wondering how one player will be able to control two monsters simultaneously, the trailer begins to sew some hints as to how the game will merge both entities into a single killer. The teaser opens as two survivors are unlocking a chest, with the screeching of crows and the rustle of bushes in the background hinting that the pair aren't alone. Emerging from the fog, a small, child-sized monster leaps into view, clawing at the eyes of one of the survivors while the other looks on in fear. The creature is followed by an adult-sized foe with a gaping hole in its chest and a sickle in its hand. It kills the struggling survivor before allowing the small creature to climb up its torso and slot into the wound in its chest.

Both monsters seemingly make for one killer, with the teaser indicating that the smaller twin can be sent out to incapacitate survivors before its bigger sibling swoops in to finish the job. It's definitely an interesting new dynamic that could make for some intense Dead by Daylight matches, especially as locking down a survivor with one twin while the other chases another player could create some unique tactical opportunities. The Twins will also be joined by a brand new survivor, with Élodie Rakoto becoming part of the roster.

Introducing a new killer to the ranks of Dead by Daylight feels like an appropriate move right now, especially with the game slated to be ported over to the Xbox Series X today and the PlayStation 5 later this week. The new consoles will allegedly bring a number of upgrades to the experience, including enhanced visuals, better load times, and some significant overhauls to the game's maps. It seems like Behaviour is going all out to ensure it's the definitive Dead by Daylight experience.

Dead by Daylight is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions launching alongside the consoles.
