In 2016, Behaviour Interactive released the hit horror game Dead by Daylight. While it wasn't the first asymmetrical multiplayer horror game, it helped popularize the format for the genera. Since Behaviour Interactive released Dead by Daylight, other games like Friday the 13th: The Game, Predator: Hunting Grounds, and the multiplayer mode for the remake of Resident Evil 3 have all adopted similar gameplay models.

Since Dead by Daylight was released, the developer has continued to support the game with new player characters and killers to choose from. The Dead by Daylight game often features crossovers with other horror franchises such as Saw and other slasher films. Now, however, it appears the developer wants to expand its resume.

Earlier today, Behaviour Interactive launched its 30th Anniversary Showcase which had been announced late last month. During this showcase, it revealed its upcoming project, known as Meet Your Maker. The game is said to be set in a dying world where players take on the role of a creature known as the Custodian who serves a living experiment known as the Chimera. In order for this experiment to evolve, the player must collect pure genetic material located in places known as the Outposts. The Outposts guard the genetic material and are created by other players. The designers of the outposts need to figure out ways to kill enemy players with blocks, traps, and guards. The game was officially revealed during Behaviour Beyond's stream.

During the stream, the developer also officially revealed that it was including more Resident Evil characters into Dead by Daylight under the Project W title. This reveal had come after a series of leaks seemingly revealed who would be in the new content. The trailer for the upcoming crossover officially confirmed that it would include Ada Wong, Rebecca Chambers, and Albert Wesker as a new killer but was unclear as to when the new content would be released.

This new game, Meet Your Maker, seems to be a very different game from Dead by Daylight. While both games involve multiplayer aspects where one player character has a distinct advantage over the other, that's where the similarities seem to end. While discussing the game, creative director Ash Pannell described it as a game that was built on the company's reputation for creating unique moments for players in regard to creative deaths. Dead by Daylight is a game known for fun player deaths and killer perks, and it seems the developer is trying to further that legacy with another project. The trailer also encouraged gamers to sign up for a chance to participate in the game's closed playtests. It is also currently unknown if content for Dead by Daylight will slow down in favor of the development of Meet Your Maker.
