Dead by Daylight has plenty of original monsters and killers, but the game has really made a name for itself through its crossovers with horror icons like A Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger and Halloween's Michael Myers. However, the next Dead by Daylight crossover is one of its most exciting yet, as it's been confirmed that Dead by Daylight will be getting a Stranger Things expansion in September.

An exact release date for the Dead by Daylight Stranger Things expansion hasn't been nailed down, but we know what it will include. Dead by Daylight players can look forward to a new killer in the form of The Demogorgon, plus two new survivors - Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington. The Dead by Daylight Stranger Things DLC also includes Hawkins National Laboratory: The Underground Complex, which will give fans of the hit Netflix show the chance to explore one of its most infamous locations.

This isn't the first time Stranger Things has made its way into the world of video games. There are a number of officially-licensed Stranger Things games on the market, plus some upcoming projects like a PlayStation VR-exclusive based on the show.

As for Dead by Daylight, the Stranger Things DLC is just the latest expansion that the asymmetric multiplayer horror game has gotten this year. Previously, Ghostface from Scream was added to the mix, and the game also received some content based on Ash vs. Evil Dead.

The Dead by Daylight Stranger Things expansion is sure to boost the game's popularity. After all, the Netflix show is one of the most popular and most-watched shows in the world right now, so it stands to reason that some fans of it may decide to check out Dead by Daylight. More people playing the game means that the developers at Behaviour Interactive have added incentive to make even more DLC, so we expect Dead by Daylight to be supported with new content for quite some time.

In the meantime, Dead by Daylight fans can check out the Stranger Things DLC when it launches at some point next month.

Dead by Daylight is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A Switch version will launch on September 24 and a mobile version is also in development.
