Netflix's Stranger Things has proven to be one of the streaming giant's top shows, becoming a cultural phenomenon in its own right. The incredible popularity of Stranger Things has seen it cross over into other mediums, with characters and locations from the show featured in asymmetric multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight. Unfortunately, Stranger Things will soon be making its exit from Dead by Daylight entirely.

This was confirmed by Behaviour Interactive, who explained that the Stranger Things map, Hawkins National Laboratory, will be removed from Dead by Daylight starting November 17. At that point, no one will be able to play on the map, as it's going to be "sealed off permanently," according to the game's developers. On the same day, the Stranger Things characters that have been added to Dead by Daylight will be removed from the in-game store, no longer available to purchase.

This means Dead by Daylight survivors Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington will no longer be available to purchase, and neither will Dead by Daylight killer The Demogorgon. But while the Hawkins National Laboratory map is going to be removed permanently, anyone that has purchased the Stranger Things content in Dead by Daylight will get to use it after November 17. And to make sure that even more people can get their hands on the DLC, Behaviour Interactive is running a half-off sale on the Stranger Things content from August 18 until November 17 at 2pm ET.

Like with any of its Dead by Daylight killers or survivors, Behaviour Interactive also released a variety of alternate looks for Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, and The Demogorgon. Like the characters themselves, this cosmetic DLC will be available at a 50% discount, letting players complete their collection for a relatively low price. One of the more notable cosmetics is the Scoops Away outfit for Steve, based on his appearance in Stranger Things Season 3.

This is an unfortunate reality when dealing with licensed properties, though it seems most Dead by Daylight licensed content as remained available to purchase in the game. It's possible that other Dead by Daylight killers/survivors/content could potentially be removed down the line, though nothing has been announced. If anything substantial is removed from Dead by Daylight, though, fans can count on Behaviour Interactive to give them a head's up so they have plenty of time to purchase whatever it is they want.

In the meantime, it seems Dead by Daylight fans will soon have a new licensed killer to look forward to. Behaviour has started teasing Dead by Daylight Chapter 21, and while the killer's identity has yet to be revealed, guesses range anywhere from Hellraiser's Pinhead to the Samara from The Ring.

Dead by Daylight is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, asnd Xbox Series X.
