Asymmetrical multiplayer horror game Dead By Daylight continues to thrive as Behaviour Interactive rolls out chapter after chapter. It's no surprise then that partners continue to reach out to Behaviour for potential Dead by Daylight crossover opportunities. This may be the first time that a partner has come back for more, however. As part of a series of announcements made on Tuesday, Behaviour teased a second Resident Evil crossover event will be coming to Dead by Daylight soon. The crossover event is named Resident Evil: Project W and very little has been revealed about it. What has been confirmed is that Resident Evil: Project W will be a full chapter, meaning it will be the size of a full update for Dead by Daylight. Further, it's planned to release in 2022. That likely means it'll arrive later this year, perhaps in the fall, but at least has a confirmed release window. Further details are all driven by speculation from the Resident Evil: Project W teaser trailer.RELATED: Dead by Daylight Is Getting Attack on Titan CosmeticsResident Evil: Project W's teaser trailer starts in an eyebrow-raising way. Instead of a new teaser, it shows the teaser for Dead by Daylight's first Resident Evil crossover. A young woman is attacked and killed by Nemesis. However, instead of showing the rest of the video where Jill Valentine and Leon Kennedy arrive, the footage is shown to have been viewed by security cameras. A screen showing the footage is slowly backed away from, revealing the shadow of a mysterious figure.

The figure in question is unknown, but judging from their shadow they are humanoid. Dead by Daylight fans believe they've got it figured out already, however. A dark figuring overseeing the mayhem of the t-Virus unleashed in Raccoon City, along with the event's title "Project W," could only mean Albert Wesker is involved.

To be fair, Dead by Daylight fans were given a bit of a heads-up. A leak this past week confirmed that Wesker would be the Killer in Behaviour Interactive's plans for Dead by Daylight Chapter 25. He'll be joined by two new Survivors, Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers.

For the time being, Dead by Daylight players can focus their excitement on the upcoming release of Dead by Daylight Chapter 24, featuring Survivor Haddie Kaur, the Killer known as The Dredge, and much more arriving June 7. Resident Evil: Project W, whether it truly is Chapter 25 and features Wesker and others, will be fully unveiled later this year.

Dead by Daylight is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
