Dead by Daylight, the asymmetrical online competitive multiplayer horror game, is receiving a massive update today. The Reckoning, Dead by Daylight's Tome 2, will be launching soon, if it's not already available. Like with Tome 1, Reckoning will bring with it a new Rift battle pass full of content to unlock. Content includes new challenges to complete, as well as skins and charms to unlock via a new Rift. Reckoning will focus on four characters, including the Doctor, the Spirit, Jane Romero, and David King.

Each Tome DLC in Dead by Daylight is essentially split into two parts. There's the Tome itself, which is free and includes a variety of Challenges to complete, rewarding Bloodpoints, lore, and Rift Fragments. The other half is the Rift, Dead by Daylight's battle pass. The Rift has both free and premium elements, so that players can earn cosmetics regardless of whether they purchase the Rift or otherwise. The Rift's rewards are only available for a limited time, however, so players will have to play to earn their favorite cosmetics.

This Tome's Rift is themed after the Lunar New Year and is full of cosmetics for the holiday, as well as plenty of standard horror fare. For example, on the free track are two skins: the Mr. Puddles outfit for The Clown and the Demon Slayer outfit for Feng Min. The premium Rift pass has 70 tiers of rewards for players to unlock. Skins include The Doctor's MKAwakening, The Spirit's Accursed Armor, Jane Romero's Lead Actress, and David King's Unconquered.

With the release of Reckoning and its Rift, the previous Tome's Rift will be closing. That means players will no longer be able to make progress on the past Rift or earn any of its exclusive rewards. The Tome and its Challenges will remain available for players to complete, however. These Challenges will continue to reward Bloodpoints and lore, but won't reward Rift Fragments. For that, players will have to purchase the new Rift for 1,000 Auric Cells.

Today's update doesn't come with any news regarding Dead by Daylight's next Chapter, Chapter 15. Chapter 14, Cursed Legacy, released on December 3 and added new Killer The Oni and new Survivor Yui Kimura. It also contained the impressive-looking new map, the Yamaoka Estate. It'll likely be another month or few before Behavior Interactive shares more information about Chapter 15, so players should be able to make the most of the new Rift in the current meta.

Dead by Daylight is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a mobile version also in development.
