Dead by Daylight updates its asymmetrical gameplay loop almost bi-monthly with brand new content. These downloadable content purchases introduce other horror franchises from film, television, and video gaming to Dead by Daylight. However, unfortunate circumstances have kept fans from being able to fully enjoy Dead by Daylight's newest DLC.

Dead by Daylight's latest DLC launched a collaboration with Resident Evil, celebrating the franchise's 25th anniversary. This Resident Evil content has been live since June 15. But the DLC's new map, featuring the Raccoon City Police Department, has been shut down since the day it launched due to significant technical issues. Fortunately, fans now have another reason to celebrate Dead by Daylight today, aside from the confetti and decorations arriving at its 5th Anniversary festivities.

Behaviour Interactive has announced earlier today that the Raccoon City Police Department map is currently re-enabled. Recently, Dead by Daylight was given a bugfix patch that appears to have resolved issues with the map that have been apparent throughout the month. The Raccoon City Police Department is one of Dead by Daylight's largest maps, and is scaled to represent the precinct from the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2. Of course, necessary alterations have been made to cater the map toward Dead by Daylight's gameplay systems, such as having sacrificial hooks appearing throughout. The Entity's presence gives the precinct a unique aesthetic, and fans are now able to explore it while it remains in active rotation on public matches.

Though the map is currently re-enabled, Behaviour has notified fans that map offerings will remain disabled in order for the developers to "closely monitor performance and stability." This suggests that Behaviour is satisfied enough with the map's current condition to re-enable it for public matches, but that more issues may occur. Dead by Daylight's 5th Anniversary festivities begin today, and re-instating the new map is a great way to bring more players in to celebrate the game's anniversary and Resident Evil DLC.

The party favors included in Dead by Daylight's 5th Anniversary have also been revealed. Crown cosmetics for original characters are returning from Dead by Daylight's 4th Anniversary celebration, with a slightly more intricate design. Once again, players will have to find a crown somewhere within a match and escape with it in order to keep it. Starting today, a total of 9,000 Iridescent Shards will be doled out to players as a log-in bonus over the course of seven days during the event.

On top of that, when players first log into the game during the event, they will receive 500,000 Bloodpoints. This in-game currency supply ensures that players will have immediate access to some of the items, add-ons, and offerings that are exclusive to the anniversary event. Whether enjoying the new map or partaking in festivities, Dead by Daylight fans have a lot to be excited for today.

Dead by Daylight is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
