Since coming out in 2016, Behavior Interactive's online survival game Dead By Daylight has pretty much been going from strength to strength, particularly with its constant new roster of classic horror villains, and being an especially popular title for streamers. As one of the games that will be free on the Epic Games Store in December, its popularity is only likely to increase. On top of that, there was an announcement not long ago that the next chapter would be coming at the end of this month, and now it seems as though chapter 22 will be rolling out tomorrow.

When accessing the official Dead By Daylight website, viewers will see a countdown which is ticking down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until "Portrait of a Murder" gets released. This latest addition to the game, according to the countdown clock, will be let loose on November 30 at 09:00 PT, 12:00 ET, and 17:00 GMT. Chapter 22 will feature a new killer, called the Artist, a Chilean painter whose life was saved by a murder of crows when they tried to commit suicide. There's also a new survivor, a CIA code breaker called Jonah Vasquez.

Dead by Daylight "Portrait of a Murder" was announced at the start of November, and is a continuation of the studio implementing regular updates, adding new characters, many of whom come from classic horror movies, such as Michael Myers and Freddy Kruger of Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street fame, respectively. This latest chapter is allegedly Behavior Interactive looking to get back to its roots by featuring original killers and survivors, which keeps things mixed up among a healthy cast of characters from recognizable franchises.

The Dead By Daylight team was recently criticized over NFT controversies, with the studio insisting that it would not be getting involved with the practice, despite teaming up with an NFT company called Boss Protocol. It caused many fans to condemn Behavior Interactive's business acumen, but the story does not appear to have hurt the popularity of its IP too much.

As one of the best co-op horror games to play with friends, the fact that the developer is continuing to include new content on a regular basis shows that things aren't slowing down any time soon. Despite it being a horror game, it's something that players are keen to get stuck into even when it's not Halloween, and with "Portrait of a Murder" due out tomorrow, there's only going to be more to enjoy.

Dead by Daylight is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
