World-famous actor Nicolas Cage will be the latest addition to Dead by Daylight, the asymmetric multiplayer horror game known for collaborating with some of the most iconic characters and franchises horror has to offer. Dead by Daylight originally launched in 2016 and has since been bringing a steady stream of new killers, survivors, and maps for players to enjoy.

Over the years Dead by Daylight hasn't been afraid to incorporate franchises from both the cinema world and the world of video games. From Resident Evil to Stranger Things, to classic horror freaks like Leatherface (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and Freddy Kreuger (Nightmare on Elm Street) among many others, Dead by Daylight features almost any horror franchise one can think of.

Dead by Daylight shared a short video revealing that famous actor Nicolas Cage will be joining its ever-expanding roster of playable characters. Known for an illustrious Hollywood career, Cage has garnered specific praise for some of the horror films he's starred in over his decades of acting. Whether older movies like Vampire's Kiss (1988) or The Wicker Man (2006) or more contemporary, experimental horror films like Mandy (2018), Color Out Of Space (2019), or even Willy's Wonderland (2021), Nic Cage has been able to carve out his own cult following within the horror genre.

It remains to be seen which of the two roles Nicolas Cage will join when he arrives in Dead by Daylight. Cage typically has a larger physical presence on the silver screen, so it's not outside the realm of possibility for him to join the game's cast of killers. However, he'll most likely end up joining team survivor, as he's not playing a specific movie character and his appearance in the teaser doesn't indicate any sort of horror monster qualities. What ever the case, it's extremely likely that Cage will bring an abundance of one-liners and references drawing from his massive body of acting work.

When it comes to movie collaborations Dead by Daylight typically features prominent figures from the slasher subgenre, so it's interesting that developer Behaviour Interactive chose to bring in an actor who isn't known for slasher films. Nicolas Cage isn't the first movie star to come to the game, as he'll be joining fellow Hollywood actors Bruce Campbell (Ash Williams) and Doug Bradley (Pinhead) in the realms of Dead by Daylight. Fans of Nicolas Cage and Dead by Daylight won't have to wait too long to learn more, as details of Cage's addition to the popular multiplayer survival title will be dished out on July 5.

Dead by Daylight is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
