Dead by Daylight is full of killers and survivors that are original to the asymmetric horror title as well as guests from famous horror franchises. With the recent DLC announcement revealing Silent Hill's Pyramid Head and Cheryl as Dead by Daylight's first crossover with another horror game, the possibilities for newcomers are now endless.

Previously, all of the killers and survivors making guest appearances in Dead by Daylight were from horror movies or television shows. Now that Silent Hill's fog has rolled into the realm of the entity, characters from horror games are now likely to appear in future DLC packages.

While anything is possible, the odds of characters appearing seem to be increased by how popular a franchise is as well as its influence. With Silent Hill being one of the most famous and influential horror games of all time, it makes sense that it would be the first game crossover. Here are what many fans want for survivors in the future or survivors that just seem likely.

Jennifer Simpson - Clock Tower

Clock Tower Scissorman Jennifer Horror

Jennifer Simpson is the protagonist of the first two Clock Tower games made by Human Entertainment. In them, she is pursued by a murderous child wielding a giant pair of scissors known as the Scissorman. The Clock Tower games do not allow much room for fighting back with the main way of avoiding Scissorman being through hiding or using one-time-use items that are part of the environment.

Being one of the first survival horror games in history, Clock Tower is very influential in game history. If Jennifer were to be picked as a survivor for Dead by Daylight, she would likely be packaged with Scissorman as a killer. This would additionally make Jennifer the youngest survivor in Dead by Daylight with her being 13 in Clock Tower: the First Fear and 15 in its sequel. Gameplay-wise, her perks would likely be focused on stealth and hiding. While there are already perks that benefit from players using the closets found throughout the maps, a new one for Jennifer would probably fit her and the gameplay of Clock Tower.

Buffy Summers - Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Dead by Daylight

When it comes to famous horror television shows, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of the most well known. Like with Dead by Daylight's Ash Williams DLC representing the Evil Dead series with only a survivor, having only Buffy as a survivor-only DLC could provide a lot of fun perk options. While the show had its last new episode in 2003, its influence can still be seen in modern horror television shows today. Due to Buffy's status as the "slayer," she would most likely have perks that mess with the killer and hinder them in some way. Due to her knowledge of monsters and supernatural entities, she may even have some perks involving tracking the killer like the survivor, Feng Min.

One problem, however, is the licensing rights that come with using the likenesses of actors. This can be seen with many of the survivors from movies in Dead by Daylight with how they don't resemble their movie counterparts in any way. Sarah Michelle Gellar is known as Buffy, so not getting her likeness would make the crossover a bit pointless.

Mio Amakura - Fatal Frame 2

Mio Amakura is the main character of Fatal Frame 2, which is often considered to be the best game in the Fatal Frame series by fans. In her game, she is trapped in a village that is filled with angry spirits with only a camera capable of deflecting these wicked souls.

If she were to appear in Dead by Daylight, she obviously couldn't have the Camera Obscura to help her. However, there are possibilities for perks that could resemble this ability. For example, Mio could have a perk allowing her to set off some kind of camera flash that has the potential to blind killers. This is an incredibly powerful effect, so there should be prerequisites in order to pull this off, such as working on generators for enough time or destroying a number of hooks.

Fatal Frame is an incredibly beloved series by fans who would all love to see characters return in at least something since the last game on the Wii U. Dead by Daylight might be a good place for a reappearance.

Fox Mulder and Dana Scully - The X-Files

The x-files promo shot

Like with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the X-Files is an incredibly influential television show filled with nightmare fuel, interesting stories, and science fiction goodness. Because of this, it would make perfect sense for special agents Mulder and Scully to find themselves inside the realm of the entity.

If they were to become DLC characters, it wouldn't be the first time survivors came in a pack of two, as Steve and Nancy of Stranger Things came together with the release of the Stranger Things chapter. With their experience in dealing with the unknown, they could have perks that are capable of completely changing the meta of Dead by Daylight.

Due to being investigators, both characters may have perks focused on analyzing the map's features and the behavior of the killer. Their training may also give them perks allowing them to fight back from the killer, similar to Laurie Strode.

Makoto Naegi - Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc

DR Makoto Naegi

While it is argued if it truly can be considered a horror game or not, many have been terrified from the events that take place in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. This murder-mystery title has players put in the shoes of student, Makoto Naegi, as he's put in a death game where the only way to escape is to commit the perfect murder. The Danganronpa series has a large fan-following with many currently celebrating its 10th anniversary for the year 2020.

There are however a couple problems with the inclusion of Makoto in Dead by Daylight. For one, the anime-style of Danganronpa clashes immensely with the realistic approach of Dead by Daylight. This however may be able to be resolved by basing Makoto's character model on his appearance in the live-action stage productions of Danganronpa. Another problem lies with Makoto already being a guest survivor for the game, Identity V.

Identity V is often considered to be a mobile clone of Dead by Daylight. The main differences are in how killers see in the third person and there is no blood or gore due to all of the characters being puppets. Outside of that, Identity V is heavily criticized for having nearly the same gameplay mechanics of Dead by Daylight. With Danganronpa already crossing over there, it's unlikely that Spike Chunsoft will additionally come over to Dead by Daylight's side.

Dead by Daylight is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
