Several months ago, Behaviour Interactive released Dead by Daylight's chapter based on A Nightmare on Elm Street, which added Freddy Krueger as a new killer and incorporated a new survivor and map themed around the movies as well. Now, it appears as if the Canadian game studio is set to add another horror icon to the title, with a brand new trailer teasing the inclusion of Saw's Jigsaw.

As seen in the trailer below, it isn't explicitly shown that Jigsaw is coming to Dead by Daylight, as Behaviour Interactive decided to go for a more subtle approach instead, teasing the character by way of footage that focuses on what appears to be the torture device known as the Reverse Beartrap set to a timer. Another incredibly obvious clue as to who the video pertains to is the clip's showing of the phrase "Let's play a game..." which is something that Jigsaw would say to his victims in the films.

While most, if not all Dead by Daylight fans will be excited to learn of Jigsaw's inclusion, it's still a mystery as to how the villain and his somewhat indirect way of killing victims will tie into the gameplay style of the title. If the game's version of the character is John Kramer–that is, the original Jigsaw–then his mobility and skills will likely be a tad oblique when compared to Dead by Daylight's other killers. Perhaps he will control his tricycle-riding puppet, Billy, to quickly disperse tricks and traps throughout the map to take out his prey, but this is merely speculation.

As of now, all we have to go on regarding Jigsaw's addition to Dead by Deadlight is the above teaser trailer, but an official reveal of the villain and his abilities is expected to come in the near future. With an existing roster of horror icons like Leatherface, Michael Myers, and the aforementioned Freddy Krueger, Dead by Daylight's addition of Jigsaw is definitely an example of Behaviour Interactive zigging when fans expect it to zag.

Dead by Daylight is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
