Dead by Daylight Ash vs Evil Dead Gameplay Revealed

Not too long ago, it was confirmed that the video game developer Behaviour Interactive would be including Ash vs Evil Dead DLC at some point in the near future for its survival horror title Dead by Daylight. Now, the company has officially released a video that features none other than Bruce Campbell, the actor who portrays the protagonist of the Evil Dead series, alongside some gameplay of Ashley J. Williams in action.

Per the latest piece of Dead by Daylight footage, it confirms that the Ash vs Evil Dead DLC will add Ash as a Survivor in the survival horror game, and of course, Bruce Campbell will be providing the voice for the iconic character. Not much is shown off, though, with the gameplay only highlighting Ash's character model running through a foggy terrain, repairing one of Dead by Daylight's generators, and detaching himself from one of the title's meat hooks.

Instead of giving Ash his chainsaw hand from Evil Dead 2, Behaviour Interactive has opted to provide him with his mechanical metal gauntlet which made its first appearance in Sam Raimi's Army of Darkness. What's more is that the Dead by Daylight developer has also given the Ash character model a holster for his "Boomstick" shotgun, but did not provide an actual firearm in the slot.

For those unaware, Evil Dead's Ash coming to Dead by Daylight is not an entirely unprecedented move at this point, as Behaviour Interactive has previously included several classic horror franchises as crossover materials for the game. As it so happens, the title has been populated with such Killer figures as Michael Myers from Halloween, Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre's Leatherface as Dead by Daylight DLC just to name a few.

As has been the case with previous Dead by Daylight DLC chapters, Behaviour Interactive has not only added a new Survivor, but also a new Killer and new map for players to experience as well. So, with this being the case, it will be interesting to see if the developer continues releasing content in this vein by adding an Evil Dead Deadite as a Killer and the cabin in the woods from the first movie as the new map. That said, though, it's always possible that Ash himself winds up being the only piece of content coming via the Ash vs Evil Dead DLC.

Dead by Daylight is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and is expected to release in Fall 2019 for Nintendo Switch.
