The first season of Batwoman mostly focused on the struggles between Kate Kane and her twin sister Beth, better-known as Alice. Several other significant villains had an impact on the plot, but Alice was the main antagonist. Now that the second season of the show is airing, it could change many great things. For one, it could bring some iconic DC villains into the story. Most of them will be familiar even to the casual movie-goer, but some of them might be a surprise.

The fact is that Kate Kane has her own set of villains. But now that Kate's gone and Ryan Wilder is the new Batwoman, the show can bring in any villain it wants. And some of them would be really welcome on Batwoman.

10 Catwoman

Anne Hathaway catwoman

Catwoman is one of the most popular DC villains. She sometimes helps the heroes but most of the time, she's independent, does her own thing. Catwoman and Batwoman could have an intriguing dynamic if they crossed paths. With Batwoman guarding the streets of Gotham, it should only be a matter of time before she runs across Catwoman. Unless Selina Kyle died in the Arrowverse, the two costumed fighters could fight it out sooner or later.

9 Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy is another popular character and she's known to be one of the strongest villains. She hasn't had that much luck in live-action films or TV. Batwoman could change that. Ivy recently proved that she can work as a great villain/antihero in the animated show Harley Quinn. It would be interesting to see her ideals clash with Batwoman. Poison Ivy isn't a typical bad guy. She wants to protect the environment. Her primary concern is nature, not stealing or killing people, as long as those people don't threaten the natural environment. As a result, she and Batwoman could potentially come to an understanding.

8 Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn Suicide Squad

It would be interesting to see Harley Quinn herself show up and liven up the series. Her unhinged personality and crazy plans would make her serious competition to Alice. The two villains could battle it out to decide which one is crazier, and Batwoman would be caught in the middle. Alternatively, Harley and Batwoman could join forces against a mutual enemy, or Harley could even flirt with Batwoman. Harley is mostly a villain, but just like Catwoman, she also fought alongside superheroes in the past. While Arrow gifted fans with the easter egg of seeing Tara Strong play her (from behind), who wouldn't want to see an epic team-up between Harls and the new Batsy?

7 Talia Al Ghul

Talia al Ghul

In the comics, Talia al Ghul is usually busy with the League of Assassins. However, she and Batman have a close bond in the comics, considering she is the mother of Bruce's child, Damian. Talia could come to Gotham to look for clues of Batman's whereabouts and run across Batwoman instead. Her name actually appeared in season one, and as of Arrow's finale, she's still very much alive.

Both women are excellent fighters but Talia, with her training, could prove too much for Batwoman. She is, after all, one of the most dangerous non-metahumans in the world. Either way, their showdown would no doubt be epic, and it would open other potential storylines for the show.

6 Riddler

Riddler

Alice likes to play games and confuse people, but she's not the only one. Riddler thrives on toying with those around him. Now that Batman's gone and the original Batwoman disappeared, he could cause trouble. As a result, Ryan would have her hands full. She could even team up with Alice to stop Riddler, though the deranged sister might not like the fact that Riddler has a similar spiel. To overthrow him, the two women could join forces and become allies. The show has teased Riddler's existence before and it's possibly only a matter of time before he shows his face.

5 Bane

Bane From Injustice 2

Bane is one of the few villains who actually defeated Batman at one point. He broke Bruce's back and was proud of his achievement. The muscular hulk could show up in Gotham to defeat the new Batwoman to prove that he's still capable of defeating any bat-themed vigilante. Bane is a lot to handle for any hero. He's extremely strong and would present a real challenge for Ryan. Plus, he and Batwoman had their encounters before in the comics.

4 Clayface

batman villains we want in gotham knights

The first season of Batwoman played a lot with characters changing their faces and/or identities. The second season could very well continue with this trend, and no one changes their face better than Clayface. It comes naturally to him, and he used this powers many times before.

As such, Clayface could cause a lot of trouble for Batwoman by impersonating the people she knows. Fighting an enemy who can be different people is never easy. Plus, this could fit the usual CW show budget without having to create a large, digital clay man.

3 Mr. Freeze

Mr. Freeze

After his less than stellar portrayal in Batman and Robin (1997), Mr. Freeze deserves a live-action do-over. Ideally, one that won't have him spewing constant icy puns. Mr. Freeze is one of the most intelligent Batman villains, and it would be nice to see a live-action version of him that will do the character justice. Mr. Freeze's primary motivation is to cure his wife Nora. If Batwoman got in the way of that, he would stop at nothing to defeat her.

2 Two-Face

batman villains in gotham knight

Two-Face appeared in multiple films, most notably in The Dark Knight (2008). He would fit in well with the rest of Batwoman villains, especially Alice. Two-Face is equally torn between different personalities like Alice. He can be civil, even friendly to people, but then he snaps and becomes a homicidal maniac. There are a lot of layers of his personality the show could explore if it gave Two-Face enough space.

1 Mad Hatter

Mad Hatter

As far as Alice is concerned, no other villain would fit Batwoman as much as the Mad Hatter. After all, he and Alice have their origins in the same iconic story. The Mad Hatter is primarily a Batman villain, but there's no reason why he couldn't fight Batwoman as well. He could either work with Alice or stand against her, but his presence would deepen the Alice in Wonderland lore of the show even more.

The Mad Hatter is actually mentioned in season 5 of The Flash, but this one appears to call Earth-221 home, not Earth Prime. However, the post-Crisis Arrowverse could definitely switch things up.
