Physical strength is an important aspect of battling the forces of villainy in DC Comics. Although powerless characters like Batman can overcome such hardships thanks to his willpower and cool gadgets, he still can’t overcome the invulnerability and power that Superman can in a battle with the Justice League. For DC Comics’ newest animated film, DC League of Super-Pets, many of the super-powered animals have powers of their own.
It's important to measure the strength of these new super-powered pets, to determine which one is the most effective in a fight. The newly formed League of Super-Pets has a great set of members with distinct personalities and powers, which all makes them efficient in forming a great superhero team.
6 Ace
Much like Batman, Ace is intelligent and prefers to work alone. Finding a family in the other shelter pets, Ace becomes determined to help them all find a better world, one where they don’t need to feel the sadness from rejection or relive the trauma of his childhood origin story. When the pets encounter Orange Kryptonite, Ace gets powers of his own, making him distinct from the rest.
Ace’s superpower revolves around invulnerability. Ace can withstand any attack, from the full force of the sun to an explosion, and even falling from great heights. However, Ace can still feel the pain of such an impact, it just does not last too long. Ace may be invulnerable to a lot of things, but his paw attacks and bites are still that of just a regular dog.
5 Merton
As an old turtle, Merton doesn’t have much use other than a desire to eat leafy greens. When given powers from Orange Kryptonite, Merton discovers an ironic power for a turtle, that of super speed. Merton’s speed is the same as The Flash’s in the Speed Force and can outrun anyone with her rapid reflexes. Everything seems in slow motion for Merton due to how fast she is.
Merton’s downside when she first got her powers was the fact that she didn’t know where she was half the time because she couldn’t see. However, after receiving glasses, Merton is at her full strength and can use her super speed to crash through things without damage, thanks to her incredibly hard shell, and the speed of force that she runs at.
4 Chip
The erratic and frightened squirrel known as Chip received a great power to defend himself and others. Chip is always frightened, and determined to find safety, but with his new powers, he can find that safety within himself and his strength. His powers consist of electricity, in which he can shoot powerful lightning bolts from his hands.
As seen in the film, these powers are extremely hot and can melt metal rather easily. It’s a dangerous power to have, but Chip seems to have it under control, showing great strength with the electric powers. Towards the end of the film, he becomes a Green Lantern, making him even more powerful.
3 PB
PB the Wonder Pig is a DC Comics superfan and is utterly obsessed with her idol, Wonder Woman. PB is big and yearns for love and to be adopted. Her powers allow her to change her size, meaning she can be as small or as big as she wants. The latter fits her huge personality and charm. PB has great strength due to her size.
When large, PB has exhibited incredible resilience and strength and can crush things beneath her due to her weight. She has grown to the size of skyscrapers, and could rather easily cause a lot of damage if she continued to grow, and fell onto villains of that size.
2 LuLu
As the villain of the League of Super-Pets, LuLu is an incredible threat to both humans and animals alike. She bolsters intelligence on par, if not greater, than the criminal mastermind Lex Luthor. Not only does she have a great intellect that brought the Justice League to their knees, but she harbors incredible power thanks to the Orange Kryptonite she uses as a necklace.
LuLu exhibits great strength throughout the film, but mainly uses her super-powered guinea pigs to do her bidding. However, when forced to show her hand, LuLu is not afraid to use her telekinesis powers, and make other animals and humans submit to the incredible strength bolstered by her mind. She can even grow into a Godzilla monster, and battle both Justice League and Super-Pets with ease.
1 Krypto
Born on Krypton, and sent to Earth to defend his best friend, Superman, Krypto is known as the Super-Dog for multiple reasons. Krypto is essentially the dog version of Superman, and holds the same powers as him, except for maybe a heightened sense of smell. Krypto the Super-Dog has unrivaled powers due to him being the dog equivalent of Superman.
Krypto is seen during the film as battling giant monsters, holding the weight of speeding trains, and using the same powers Superman does, like heat vision, cold breath, flight, and super speed. His most impressive feat is his ability to fly so close to the sun and send a devastating punch that would destroy anyone that is hit by such a devastating blow.
