It's not an unpopular opinion to say that the Batman: Arkham series is home to some of the best superhero games that we've ever had. Whether you're playing through the confined areas of Arkham Asylum or gliding through the open-world Gotham City, playing as Batman just feels great, and in the hands of the right developer, playing as more of our favorite heroes would probably feel just as great. Here are ten DC characters that need their own game.

10 Wonder Woman

As one of the standout heroes of the DCEU, it's surprising that WB isn't working to get a Wonder Woman game released, as fans would eat it up. And it makes sense, as Wonder Woman is one of the most powerful heroes that DC has to offer. Grabbing villains with the Lasso of Truth while deflecting bullets with the Bracelets of Submission is such a power fantasy. While she might not have the awesome glide that Batman does in his games, she can fly. Why slowly cruise downward when you can just... fly around to your heart's content?

9 Teen Titans

We have gotten a few Teen Titans games in the past, but they were just tie-ins to the cartoon series. We really need a new game starring the heroes. The title could really follow any canon that the developers choose, whether it be the comics, animated show, live-action show, or something new altogether. The real hook of this game would come from allowing players to control all of the Titans and their incredibly varied powers. While Beast Boy might be a bit difficult to program, every single Titan would be fun to take on baddies with. Robin, Starfire, Raven, Cyborg, and Beast Boy work so well together because of how different their powers are from one another. With a roster like that, players could never get bored.

8 Superman

Superman Injustice Rocksteady Xbox Series X

Everyone's favorite wildly overpowered alien absolutely needs his own video game. Getting to soar around the skies as Superman would be absolutely incredible.

Considering that Superman is essentially the cover boy for DC, it seems odd that he hasn't gotten his own game in some time. With just how powerful Superman is, the game would need to pit us against an incredibly strong enemy to provide any sort of challenge.

7 Aquaman

While the above picture might easily blow the Xbox One X out of the water (ha) in terms of pure 4k graphics, it's time that we get a modern Aquaman game. Aquaman would provide a very different experience than the rest of the heroes on this list because, well, it would be mostly underwater, obviously. A huge, open-world underwater map with tons of sidequests would be a great starting point for our hypothetical Aquaman game. Of course, you could hop on a vehicle or just take Aquaman's incredible swimming speed for a ride.

6 Shazam

Just like Aquaman, Shazam is one of the more unique heroes in the DC pantheon, as he is actually a child that can turn into a superpowered adult by shouting the phrase, "Shazam!" As such, a Shazam game could be super interesting. Would it include the mundane aspects of Billy's life, like school? What about his powered-up siblings? There's a lot that could make this game fun, and a lot that could also sink it pretty quickly. Either way, let's get Zachary Levi to play Shazam, the man is an absolute legend.

5 Birds Of Prey

With the recent Birds of Prey film release, the time seems right to give the team a video game adaptation. The group is a lot more focused on combat than any sort of real superpowers (save for the Canary Cry) depending on who is currently in the lineup, so a beat 'em up style game would be perfect for the group. You could switch between all of the team members based on what the situation calls for or what type of fighter you'd like to play as. The Birds of Prey are different enough from the rest of the DC heroes to make a really interesting game that is all their own.

4 Harley Quinn

Speaking of Birds of Prey, give Harley Quinn a video game! The antiheroine is one of the breakout stars of the DCEU, so the time to capitalize on that popularity is already here.

Using Harley's incredible acrobatic skills to cause mayhem and take out bad guys around Gotham sounds fantastic. Harley's fighting style is unlike any other's, so getting the chance to take control of Harley would be tons of fun.

3 Poison Ivy

Back to the super-powered characters on the list, we have Poison Ivy. With the ability to control all plant life, any game starring Poison Ivy would be incredibly unique. While the game would be fine if it were set in Gotham, it would be much more appealing to see Poison Ivy out on missions around the world to save plant life any time that she has the chance. There's a lot to work with here, but making sure that the game is mechanically sound, and fun, would be super important, and possibly a bit tricky.

2 Bat-Family

We absolutely need a game centered on not just Batman, but the Bat-Family. Maybe developed by Rocksteady, this game would allow players to control every single member of the Bat-Family, as they travel around saving Gotham from its criminal underworld. Would this break any new ground? No. Would it be awesome? Yeah.

1 Joker

The only pure villain on this list (Poison Ivy just wants to save plant let her live), Joker, would be an interesting subject for a video game. He's kind of a terrible person, so playing as him might not be too appealing. However, if the developers of the game found a way to let players take control of a Joker that isn't absolutely horrible, and is redeemable in some sort of way, then this game must happen. Joker is arguably the most iconic villain that DC has, so give him a video game adaptation already!
