With every new comic book adaptation, fans are desperate to know if their favorite characters might finally make the jump to the screen. Thanks to creators like James Gunn, with projects like Peacemaker, even the lesser-known DC Comics creations may be on their way to full live-action appearances.

With The Suicide Squad, James Gunn introduced such luminaries as TDK, Javelin, and Weasel. Even if those characters didn't stick around, comparably obscure anti-hero Peacemaker was upgraded to his own full-fledged series, with his own supporting cast. The series has thus far introduced heavy hitters like Vigilante, The White Dragon, and Judomaster. There are still countless characters to play with among the D-List of DC's long-running universe.

The Talon

William Cobb, one of many assassins who take the name The Talon, is a top-of-the-line killer for The Court of Owls. While there's no connection from that enigmatic organization to the events of Peacemaker, fans have already seen Cobb work well with little interaction with the Court. Talon did hard time in Belle Reve, the prison which once held Peacemaker. In the comics, Talon was recruited by Amanda Waller into the Suicide Squad alongside Christopher Smith.

There is a solid connection between the characters in the source material that could easily spill over into this show, plus Talon is a fun character to have around. He's a circus-trained knife thrower who feigns a mental illness that leaves him saying only the word "who." He's one of the best assassins in the DC universe and his kill list might include several Wayne family members. His bona fides are substantial and could be very fun in Peacemaker.

Prometheus

This obscure villain is a strange case. In his introduction, he was a threat capable of defeating the Justice League, but in nearly every other appearance he's been an obscure minor antagonist. The character has appeared in the Arrowverse, technically a couple of times, but has yet to enter the more mainstream DCEU. Prometheus is seemingly a mortal man using the moniker of a deity. He is armed with a helmet that can download and replicate the movements of anyone he sees, as well as a high-tech nightstick with multiple functions. He's a bit like Marvel's Taskmaster, but substantially more successful and less likable.

Gunn loves to poke fun and laugh at DC characters who sit resolutely at the bottom of popularity contests, so Prometheus might make for an interesting one-off joke. The larger DCEU is certainly in no rush to adopt the self-proclaimed "god of forethought," but his unique abilities and comical sidelining make him good fodder for Gunn's DC series.

Gunhawk

Liam Hawkleigh is a minor Batman villain and a comical semi-intentional parody of macho military aesthetics. After training as an elite sniper in the US Marine Corps, Hawkleigh struck up a grudge with Deathstroke by killing someone he shouldn't have. He eventually returns to the US after tours of Panama and Lebanon and takes up a new career as a costumed assassin. He pursues his targets with the help of his girlfriend, of which there are a few over the years. His personality is pure toxic masculinity, his design incorporates American flags at every angle, and his dull combat style makes him a villain used sparingly. Those things that make him too dull to fit comfortably amongst Batman's rogue's gallery make him perfect for Peacemaker.

Most of that series' characters are costumed killers for hire with general combat skills and simplistic personalities. Gunhawk is like a funhouse mirror version of Peacemaker; every bad aspect of his attitude and outlook, without the nominal benefit of his ill-enforced code. Plus, James Gunn listed Gunhawk amongst a handful of characters he had considered including in The Suicide Squad, so there's a fair chance he'll make it in here.

Blue Beetle

Fans have already been speculating that Jaime Reyes might make his way into Peacemaker thanks to a few key hints. Project Butterfly, the mysterious insects that seem to grant humans superpowers while taking away their free will seems a bit reminiscent of Beetle's scarab. The small object that the Peacemaker finds in the apartment of the first butterfly is covered with glowing blue runes and shifts shape in a way that looks vaguely like Beetle's armor. Blue Beetle is more connected with Peacemaker than one might think. After a brief quarrel, Peacemaker served as a mentor to Reyes in the comics.

Blue Beetle is set to have his own self-titled film in 2023, but letting him premiere in this hit show would be unexpected and raise huge excitement for the upcoming film. This young superhero is a Mexican-American teen, granted a suit of battle armor that can shape-shift into a variety of weapons and tools. Blue Beetle has been a sidekick to Batman on several occasions, but introducing this character into the world of Peacemaker could change his portrayal and the overall future of the DCEU.
