WayForward Technologies and 13AM Games have finally announced when exactly their next project, Dawn of the Monsters is due to officially release. While WayForward has developed games like the original Shantae and Contra 4, this time around it's taking over publishing duties while 13AM Games is the developer for this title.

WayForward, who has been several other like Boy and his Blob and Ducktales Remastered originally announced it would be publishing Dawn of the Monsters just a few days ago. The game was actually teased as being in development by 13AM Games much earlier than that. Rumblings of the new title started way back in 2019. Now, those wanting to get their hands on the title at least have an official release window to look towards.

According to a new announcement, the monster brawler with an art style that is based on Mike Mignola's Hellboy is set to arrive in "early" 2022. While the announcement was no more specific than that as far as when it would launch, the companies did divulge that when Dawn of the Monsters arrives, it will be available on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

WayForward has several titles on the way but Dawn of the Monsters could be the first of that group to hit digital store shelves. With its standout art style, the game focuses on Kaiju-based co-op brawls through a fictional futuristic city known as New Toronto. Not only can players try and take down the giant monsters in the game, but they can also basically take down the city as the entirety of the environments are said to be destructible in what could be somewhat reminiscent of other monster games where the goal is total destruction like the classic Rampage.

There are four playable creatures in the game in Megadon, Ganira, Tempest Galahad, and Aegis Prime. Each character comes equipped with some of its own moves that include "Cataclysm Attacks" and unique finishing moves. There is also something called "Brutal Rage" abilities that can be activated as long as a few boxes have been checked in each battle. Once players select which monsters they want to play as, they'll be able to rip, crush, claw, and kick through 35 missions that include both boss fights and lower-powered standard enemies.

While WayForward fans are busy waiting for Dawn of the Monsters to launch, there is another property that just recently hit digital store shelves. The remaster of BloodRayne Betrayal, BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites released earlier this fall on nearly all gaming platforms.

Dawn of the Monsters is scheduled to release in early 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
