Looks like John Diggle isn't quite done with the hero business just yet. After The CW's Arrow ended its run following an arguably justified cancelation, many fans wondered what was in store for some of their favorite characters from the show. Well, at least one seems to have his immediate future secured.

David Ramsey, known for his work as Diggle on Arrow and the rest of The CW's DC universe, is ready to come back after the conclusion of the network's flagship superhero series. The actor will guest star as Diggle on the upcoming Superman & Lois, as well as other CW mainstays Supergirl, The Flash and Batwoman. He will also direct 5 episodes of several of the shows.

Possibly the most notable news, however, is his impending role as a mystery character on DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Well, they may be overselling the unknown aspect of it all. Diggle was last seen moving to Metropolis after finding a green ring, which heavily implies he will become the superhero known as the Green Lantern at some point. Compile that with the fact that his step father in the show literally has the last name Stewart (giving him a roundabout connection to the name John Stewart, one of the more well-known characters to carry the Green Lantern name) and that implication seems much more plausible.

"I remain in awe of the imprint these shows have had on television and I've been blessed for the better part of a decade to be a part of them both in front of and behind the camera," Ramsey said regarding the news, "to say I'm excited beyond belief to return to the Berlantiverse would be an understatement. I can't wait to continue telling these stories." The name "Berlantiverse" refers to Greg Berlanti, who produces all of the DC shows on the CW, effectively allowing them to all exist in the same shared fictional universe. Some fans still refer to it as the Arrowverse, due to how Arrow's success led to the creation of all the other series. But since its cancelation, Berlantiverse seems to be the preferred nomenclature among those involved.

It's good to know fans will see Ramsey again as Diggle. While the periodic return of several Arrow characters was already all but certain due to their popularity, an official confirmation is welcome. Plus, knowing that he'll be taking on a new role that may or may not definitely be the Green Lantern (do they think they're being sneaky or what?) may ensure that Ramsey will have plenty of work going forward on The CW.

The FlashBlack LightningSuperman & Lois, and Batwoman are all set to return in January 2021, while Legends of Tomorrow eyes a summer premiere and Stargirl plans for the fall. Supergirl's 6th and unfortunately final season still has yet to be given a premiere date.
