Darksiders Genesis has some difficult bosses. In Chapter 9, there's a boss that has a lot of players looking for guides online named Demon Lord Belial. There are lots of reasons people have trouble with him, and he's difficult enough that his fight is adding time to how long players are taking to beat the game. He's big, strong, and unbelievably agile, and players may find themselves needing help.

Belial's Stats

Belial is a Hebrew word meaning "wicked" and this boss has absolutely earns that title. He's difficult enough that players will probably not want to go back and replay this level again after beating this guy. This enemy is massive, making him look like he'll be slow, but he is fast and agile, making him an especially deadly opponent. He wields a trident and also a tail with a long reach, giving him mastery over most of the arena.

Belial's Attacks

Some fans of the series may recognize the name "Belial," as he was also in Darksiders 2. Fans may be surprised to see how different this battle is from the original. Belial has a variety of attacks to destroy anyone who challenges him:

How to Beat Belial in Darksiders Genesis

1. Teleporting to a player's location. As soon as the Demon Lord falls into a portal, start dodging immediately. He's going to reappear and destroy anyone nearby.

2. Fiery punches that are one-shot kills; this is both a melee and ranged attack. If players aren't immediately killed, it will stun them long enough to be killed before they can react. As mentioned previously, this fight is really difficult, and this move is part of the reason why. But finishing the fight is worth it, and some Darksiders Genesis reviews have even praised the challenge as a reason why the game is good.

3. Trident swings designed to trip players up. Players will have to jump to avoid this one.

4. Trident slams that create waves of fire across the battlefield. Players will need to stand between the fire.

5. Minion summons. His minions only exist to die and give back part of Belial's health, so get rid of them quickly.

6. Beliah also has a shield that he can use if players start to do a lot of damage; it will give players a breather to be able to heal.

7. The two artifacts on the sides of the arena will shoot out beams that boost Beliah or restore his health. While these may be annoying, destroying them takes a lot of time and energy, also leaving players vulnerable.

How to Kill Beliah

Tn this Diablo-style game, players will find many of the battles much more difficult than others from the series. While this battle is incredibly difficult, it's not impossible.

Strife's new abilities will be a boon to players in this fight. Players will need to do as much ranged damage as possible; Beliah is too dangerous to melee with his trident and fire punches. He can still do a lot of damage ranged to players, but standing back will give a little more time to react. There will be tons of dodging, too. Learning his attacks is imperative.

Gunfire Games, who was bought by THQ Nordic earlier this year, did a fantastic job in making an incredibly challenging and very different game that fans of the series (and even new players) will love. Hopefully Gunfire will release loads of DLC and give everyone more lore.

Darksiders Genesis is available now for PC and Stadia, and is coming to PS4, Switch, and Xbox One on February 14, 2020.
