Darksiders III may be a sequel, but it once again presents players with a new protagonist and another variation on the hack-and-slash gameplay of old. As one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Fury obviously has many weapons at her disposal. However, these tools don't have the cataclysmic power that one would expect. Their efficacy comes down to players.

Throughout her adventure, Fury finds numerous enhancements for her tools scattered across the ruined world, and equips her tools with these enhancements to improve their stats. The system doesn't have the depth of the creature cores in Darksiders Genesis, but it functions well enough in adding an element of personalization to combat. Those hoping to make it through this difficult journey should be aware of each enhancement and which weapon to slot it to.

Barbs Of Scorn: Leviathan Enhancement

This is Fury's default weapon, and the one that players will become the most accustomed to. As such, it's perhaps the most important in regards to enhancement. Considering how difficult Darksiders III is right out of the gate, gamers will definitely want a leg up with their most prominent weapon.

That's why the Leviathan Enhancement is the best option. This handy tool slowly regenerates Fury's health. Starting at 15 points per minute, players can upgrade the enhancement to recover up to 90 points per minute. The best part is that players don't even have to search the world for it.

Players can purchase the enhancement from Vulgrim for 5,000 souls. That's a hefty price, especially when it comes at the cost of upgrading one's own abilities. However, it's well worth it in the long run. With this invaluable boon, players can cut down the number of deaths they'll deal with in this Dark Souls wannabe.

Chains Of Scorn: Juggernaut Enhancement

To go along with recovering health, players will also want a buffer against any damage they might endure. This is why, for the second most prominent weapon, they should go for the Juggernaut Enhancement.

The Chains of Scorn are made for fast, agile attacks, conjuring images of Death in Darksiders II. Because of that, they don't do much damage on their own. Why not balance that out by reducing the impact of an enemy's strikes as well? The Juggernaut Enhancement lessens the abuse Fury takes by 10% to 30%. In addition, it increases the physical damage the weapon deals by up to 30% when fully upgraded.

These advantages allow players to keep up the rapid-fire assault without worrying as much about one's own wellbeing. All it takes to attain this upgrade is to search the Tangled Grotto.

Lance Of Scorn: Obscuris Enhancement

This lightning lance doesn't have the reach of Fury's whips. Because of that, attacking with such a weapon is riskier. An assault puts Fury closer to her enemies, thereby giving her less room to maneuver when they hit back. (This is more of a problem on the PlayStation version due to the wonky button layout.)

To counteract this detriment, the Obscuris Enhancement is the way to go. This item increases the invincibility window for each evasion; the extent can range from 8.3% to 25%. That obviously makes it safer to wield the Lance of Scorn within the enemy's vicinity. As an added bonus, the Obscuris Enhancement also boosts the Havoc energy generated. Those seeking it need only go to the Hangman's Tree.

Mallet Of Scorn: Fortifier Enhancement

Most hammers function as heavy weapons in video games, and the Mallet of Scorn is no exception. It comes with a wealth of damage, making it ideal for demolishing an enemy's health in a few swings. With that power, though, comes the cost of speed. Fury is painfully slow when using this weapon, and no enhancement can fix that.

The best option is to double down on the mallet's strength (literally). Players achieve this through the Fortifier Enhancement, which ups both physical and arcane damage by 15% once it's fully upgraded. These upgrades also increase Fury's health by 18%, meaning that it's not the end of the world when enemies inevitably land a blow during her swings. Those holding the hammer should search West End for this enhancement.

Edge Of Scorn: Enoch Enhancement

Sadly, this is another weapon with a slow attack pattern. One wouldn't think that a sword (a staple of dark fantasy games) suffers this weakness, but that's the case here. At least the Edge of Scorn offers a tremendous boost in damage.

The Enoch Enhancement is right at home with such a blade, specifically for its conversion of damage to health. While the amount of HP received starts at 15%, a fully upgraded enhancement siphons a whopping 85%. If that alone isn't enough, players can also upgrade the Enoch to lengthen the Havoc Form duration by 18%.

It's not a huge advantage, since the Horseman transformation isn't as useful as it was in the other games; however, it's a tempting perk for those who enjoy Fury's power-up. Plus, the former benefit more than makes up for it. For those passing by the Blistering Bridge, grabbing this enhancement is essential.

Salvation: Shade Enhancement

Salvation-Darksiders-3

The Salvation is unique in Fury's arsenal in that it's designed mainly for ranged combat, which is quite a far cry from a typical soulslike title. Fury throws the weapon at enemies too far away to reach through melee means. This quickly becomes the most viable option for dispatching flying foes and those who just don't want to come close.

Of course, players want to ensure these specialized attacks do as much damage as possible to make for a less painful experience overall. The Shade Enhancement accomplishes this through magic. It increases arcane damage dealt by up to 35% and reduces the same type of damage inflicted by nearly as much. Adding such efforts to each throw compensates for the lack of combos available. As a result, the Salvation is more enticing that it would have otherwise been.
