Dark Souls fever seems to be in the air, for just a week ago, the video game publisher and developer Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed its decision to bring a remastered version of the first game to Nintendo Switch. Now, the company has announced during gamescom 2018 that it intends to bring out yet another product related to the notoriously difficult series by confirming that a compiled trilogy package of all the titles are coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

As seen below in Bandai Namco's announcement trailer for Dark Souls Trilogy, fans should expect the contents of the collection to contain Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls 3: The Fire Fades Edition. With this being the case, anyone who picks up a copy of the trilogy for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will not only get the base game for each of the titles, but also all of the DLC that has been released.

According to Bandai Namco, physical editions of Dark Souls Trilogy won't be in huge supply, as it will be available in limited numbers "across the Americas", with the publisher and developer having yet to divulge if tangible copies of the three-game compilation will be available elsewhere. With Dark Souls Trilogy's physical versions being made in limited quantities, those who wish to secure a copy at launch will need to pre-order the $80 game at participating retailers.

For those who have yet to experience any of the entries in the Dark Souls franchise, Dark Souls Trilogy should serve as a solid way for newcomers to play through the series, especially since it will offer practically every piece of playable content released for the action-RPGs. And, thankfully, those players won't have to wait much longer, as Bandai Namco has set an October launch date that's just a little more than two months from now.

Dark Souls Trilogy is set to launch on October 19, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
