Dark Souls was one of 2011’s critically acclaimed games – it probably would have been a shoe in for best RPG had Skyrim not arrived on the scene. Unfortunately for PC gamers, they never got a chance to play it. A recent petition to get the game on the most powerful platform available, has caught the eye of Namco Bandai executives.

Late last a week, gamers began circling a petition to bring Dark Souls to the PC. This was done in response to the suggestion of a Namco employee, and it seems the work has paid off. The employee – known by his forum handle Shoupinou – took to the Dark Souls forums again to state that his bosses have even come to talk to him about the buzz the petition has been generating.

Don’t get your hopes up yet, though. Namco is still undecided as to the future of a PC port, and Shoupinou is urging users to keep supporting the proposition.

“Damn you are amazing!
I honestly wasn’t expecting such a massive support. My boss(es) even came to talk to me about this, after it explodes all around the world. If you wanted to have the attention of Namco Bandai Games, now you have it.
The future is in your hands, and I hope you will keep supporting this.
I make a personal objective to make sure every relevant people in Namco Bandai Games is in touch with this formidable effort.
Great Thanks!”

The petition itself is currently sitting at over 50,000 signatures, which probably means dollar signs have begun to pop up in the minds of Namco’s executives. You can sign the petition here, and I urge you to even if you don’t plan on playing it on PC. While many reading this may already be owners/fans of the console versions, the more signatures this petition has, the more likely Namco is to take development into consideration, meaning those who don’t play on a console will finally be given the opprotunity to play this game.

Would you play Dark Souls if it were to release on PC?
