Wielding an impressive weapon is always satisfying in Dark Souls 3, however, many of the coolest armaments can be enhanced beyond simply upgrading them with Titanite Chunk and Titanite Slabs. Speak with the blacksmith Andre of Astora in Firelink Shrine after acquiring different key items call "coals" to unlock the ability to infuse weapons with specific gems.

One of the less-used infusions is the Hollow infusion, which increases the power of auxiliary effects (bleed, poison, and frost) that are already on one's weapon while decreasing its base damage as well as its scaling with Strength and Dexterity. Though, arguably, more importantly, this also causes the infused weapon to now scale with the wielder's Luck stat, which unlocks a whole new host of potential builds.

There are quite a few weapons that benefit the most from being infused with a Hollow Gem, however, players will likely want to experiment with a few before committing, meaning that the Ashen One will need multiple gems of this nature. Just be sure to deliver the Profaned Coal, found in Irithyll Dungeon, to Andre so that he can actually infuse one's weapons with Hollow Gems when needed.

enemy that can drop hollow gems.

Dropped By Corvian Storytellers On The Road Of Sacrifices & In The Untended Graves

These feathered foes wield staves and can cast pyromancies at the player as they approach, such as Poison Mist. They are also usually accompanied by other Corvian foes that will attack with melee weapons when the Storyteller shrieks for aid.

There are more of them at a lower level on the Road of Sacrifices, so it is recommended to farm them in that area as opposed to the Untended Graves to get a better yield of Hollow Gems per run.

Dropped By Ringed City Slaves In The Ringed City DLC

While these red-cloth-garbed humanoid foes are annoying to deal with as they will lunge at one with lightning-based miracles, they can also drop Hollow Gems (in addition to Lightning Gems). There are many of these enemies around The Ringed City's expansive limits, so pick a spot loaded with them at one's leisure.

However, if one has not slain Darkeater Midir or knocked them into the boss arena below The Ringed City, the run-up to the encounter with Midir on the stone bridge has quite a few Ringed City Slave enemies that can be tricked into being engulfed in the mighty dragon's flames. This can become a quick farming route for the more agile players.

Gained From Trading Eleonora With Pickle Pee, Pump-A-Rum

Trading the axe Eleonora for a Hollow Gem is probably the quickest way to get one if the Ashen One has been to the Profaned Capital, which is just beyond Irithyll Dungeon where the Profaned Coal is found.

Head down into the toxic swamp section filled with Sewer Centipede enemies and proceed to the only church-like structure in this sub-area. On the bottom floor will be a few Monstrosity of Sin enemies, the ogre-like fiends with giant hands for faces, which will crawl and grab at the player aggressively. One of these foes will drop Eleonora, and, thankfully, they can be killed pretty easily with ranged attacks.

Following the acquisition of the axe, head to Pickle Pee's nest among the rafters of Firelink Shrine to trade them Eleonora for a Hollow Gem.
