Video game publisher Bandai Namco officially releases a brand new gameplay trailer for the action-RPG Dark Souls 3's forthcoming DLC known as Ashes of Ariandel.

Considering the fact that it's been about a month since the initial reveal of Dark Souls 3's Ashes of Ariandel DLC, the game's developers have decided to give fans yet another taste of what they can expect out of the forthcoming expansion. In order to do so, publisher Bandai Namco has put out a spoiler-filled gameplay trailer for the piece of post-launch content, which actually advises fans to avoid it should they not want to ruin the surprise once it releases next month.

Interestingly enough, the latest Dark Souls 3 video is officially titled "Divert Thine Eyes," which no doubt is a direct reference to its contents having plenty of spoilers. With that being the case, fans of From Software's notoriously difficult franchise are advised to proceed with caution beyond this point, or not read on at all, unless they're completely fine with most of the materials within Ashes of Ariandel being unveiled to them.

As seen in the video below, Dark Souls 3's new gameplay video for Ashes of Ariandel display's the world's snowy landscape, as well as the action-RPG franchise's signature combat. Interestingly enough, a lot of the trailer focuses on a fight between the main character and a giant axe-wielding enemy who seems to have plenty of brute strength to spare. The footage also features a macabre-looking creature that crawls and skitters around, which the player defeats with the use of fire. Perhaps most intriguing, though, is the last portion of the clip, for it gives fans a short look at what seems to be the DLC's huge, stone-wielding boss.

Along with the fresh landscapes and enemies seen in the Ashes of Ariandel trailer, Dark Souls 3 fans should also expect to be able to equip new weapons and armor, while also learning new magic. Plus, the forthcoming DLC will give players several new features for the game's competitive multiplayer mode, and provide new lore to expand upon the game's existing story.

For those unaware, Ashes of Ariandel is set to be the first of two DLC packages, and it costs $15 as a standalone item across all of the platforms that support Dark Souls 3. Of course, should fans wish to secure both pieces of post-launch content before their arrival, they can do so by paying $25 in total for the action-RPG's Season Pass.

Although Ashes of Ariandel's release date is set for the end of October, Dark Souls 3's second expansion has yet to even receive a name. However, From Software has previously announced that it will launch sometime in early 2017. With this being the case, it's safe to say that the studio will be keeping any information it has about the next piece of DLC under wraps until we get much closer to its availability next year.

Dark Souls 3's Ashes of Ariandel expansion is set to release on October 25, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
