Developer Supermassive Games is most likely known to a lot of gamers as the studio behind some immersive, choice-based horror games. Until Dawn acted as the company's breakout hit, releasing in 2015 and giving players a unique video game horror experience. Since then, Supermassive Games has released a collection of other titles, mostly tied to its Dark Pictures Anthology, a series of disconnected stories featuring The Curator, a mysterious character who appears in each game and slowly reveals more about himself.

The latest game in The Dark Pictures Anthology, The Devil in Me, will act as the conclusion to the stories that began with 2019's Man of Medan. Fans can expect the traditional formula set by Supermassive Games for its Dark Pictures Anthology series, but some new features will be making their way to The Devil in Me. In a trailer revealed at this year's Gamescom event, these new features were revealed, alongside the game's release date, which is set for November 18, 2022.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me gives players control over multiple characters, all part of an entertainment show that has tanked in its ratings. To attract more viewers, the cast accepts a strange invitation to a "murder castle," where, as can be expected from something referred to as a murder castle, things quickly take a turn for the worse. The release date for The Devil in Me was allegedly leaked online last month. That leak reported that the game would drop on November 30, 2022, getting the month of the actual launch correct but misreporting the exact day.

While Supermassive Games has recently released a title not related to The Dark Pictures Anthology in the form of The Quarry, it appears the developer wishes to focus on its collection of horror stories. Earlier this year, the studio announced it had five more games in The Dark Pictures Anthology lined up, meaning that even if The Devil in Me acts as somewhat of a season finale for the first four games, more will be on the way soon enough.

With The Devil in Me having a November release date, it seems that the game will be the first of a few major horror releases coming towards the end of 2022 and early 2023. After November brings about The Devil in Me, December will see the launch of The Callisto Protocol, and January 2023 will reportedly hold the release of the highly anticipated Dead Space remake.

The Dark Pictures: The Devil in Me releases November 18, 2022, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
