Update 5/18: Unfortunately for fans of the Man Without Fear, Marvel's Bill Rosemann has denied the rumor that a Daredevil game is in development.

Original story follows.

Ever since the release of Marvel's Spider-Man back in 2018, fans have consistently been wondering what other superheroes in the Marvel universe could do with their own big-budget video game adaptation. After all, Marvel's Spider-Man did reference a number of major superheroes, with players being allowed to visit locations synonymous with the likes of Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and even The Avengers.

Perhaps the character with the most easter eggs was Matt Murdock, or as he's better known in the Marvel universe, Daredevil. Many were wondering if the character would perhaps turn up in a Spider-Man sequel, however, it seems new leaks may indicate that The Man Without Fear could be getting his own video game adaptation on next-generation hardware in "late-2021 or 2022."

The leak itself, which popped up recently on 4Chan, at first looked to be somewhat dubious. Not only is 4Chan synonymous with fake leaks and rumors, but its setting appeared to place Daredevil in Chicago despite the character being notoriously linked with New York City. However, a recent exchange between legendary voice actor Troy Baker and head creative at Marvel Games Bill Rosemann has added a lot of credibility to this dubious rumor, with many now believing that Daredevil will indeed be making his way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Responding to a tweet asking fans which superhero they'd love to see receive a video game adaptation, Baker tagged Rosemann, captioning the tweet "Ahem, cough, cough." Rosemann simply replied "you, sir, are clearly a man without fear," blatantly referencing one of the most iconic Daredevil stories in the character's long and storied history.

While it's far from a confirmation, it seems many are putting far more stock in the rumor than before, especially when considering Rosemann's role at Marvel Games. The leak itself claimed the game would be a "noir-style detective game" and, as stated previously, will take place in modern-day Chicago. The leak claims its map would be a whopping 65 square miles - which, for context, is over three times the size of Marvel's Spider-Man's New York - and that it will make use of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X's solid-state hard drives to push its world to the next level.

Supposedly, it will also see players mostly explore at night, with the leaker claiming that traversal may be more limited than something like Marvel's Spider-Man. Apparently, the combat follows a similar structure to the Batman Arkham games, while players will also have access to Daredevil's echolocation which will seemingly act like Batman's detective mode in those games as well. It definitely sounds like an interesting idea, and while fans should still take the rumor with a pinch of salt, Baker and Rosemann's interaction definitely add a lot of intrigue that wasn't there before.

Daredevil video game adaptation is rumored to be in development.
