Daredevil: Born Again filming has not started yet, meaning the Disney Plus series is still fine-tuning details for Matt Murdock's solo MCU feature. That includes adding some top-notch writing talent with plenty of legal background.

Marvel Studios had already done something similar for She-Hulk, the show where Daredevil made his debut in the MCU. However, the series’ light-hearted nature had little room for courtroom drama. With the Daredevil: Born Again series having a record-high 18-episode count ahead of its 2024 premiere, that last part could change dramatically, hence why some fellow attorneys are being brought on board.

According to information gathered by Cosmic Circus, Daredevil: Born Again is putting together a legal A-team, which translates to lawyers with plenty of experience writing crime and courtroom plotlines. These writers include David Feige, Thomas Wonga, and Zachary Reiter, all of whom have strong ties to New York City. Feige worked as a public defender in NYC and founded a nonprofit bail organization, writing TNT's Raising the Bar and working on The Firm. Wong, a former NYC attorney, has worked on Minority Report, Good Trouble, and Bull. Lastly, Reiter is a former Queens prosecutor that has written for Law & Order: Organized Crime and CSI: New York.

Outside the legal scope, the other writers with links to Daredevil: Born Again on the Writers Guild of America are Jill Blankenship (Arrow), Grainne Godfree (The Flash), Devon Kliger, and Aisha Porter-Christie (The Boys: Gen V). Combined, they possess enough combined experience with superheroes. Daredevil: Born Again is expected to enter principal photography in February, with the series looking to wrap up its production on December 15.

Stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio have been quite coy about the show’s nature, going back and forth calling Daredevil: Born Again a reboot or continuation depending on which aspects they’re asked about. Despite that, considering how much of Matt's story was fledged out in his Netflix days, it seems unlikely Marvel Studios will continue that show’s timeline.

In any case, Daredevil: Born Again bringing in more writers with legal experience is a welcome addition after the lack of courtroom drama and the shallowness of She-Hulk's lawyer antics were so harshly criticized. Daredevil: Born Again's showrunners won’t be aiming for those legal comedy vibes, so expect Matt Murdock's lawyering to be on a different level.

Daredevil: Born Again premiere is scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus in the spring of 2024.
