Weird: The Al Yankovic Story star Daniel Radcliffe is apparently very cool with the idea of fans shouting at him from their cars. Not only that, but contrary to what some may believe, he's fully aware that people think he looks like Lord of the Rings alum Elijah Wood, and he's fine with that too. Basically, Radcliffe is cool with a lot of things.

The lifelong actor revealed how his favorite sort of fan interaction is when somebody yells in his direction from a moving car without stopping. Some may assume that such an encounter can't really be a common occurrence compared to people simply stopping stars like the passionate and outspoken Radcliffe on the street to gush about their love. But in a time when social distancing is still thankfully followed by many for the sake of safety, perhaps a drive-by fanboy gush is the best possible outcome.

While appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, Radcliffe admitted this while recounting stories of how long he's been mistaken for Wood and how he usually handles the confusion. "You just don't want to ruin someone's day," he said with a slightly guilty-looking smile. "The first time it happened I was on a red carpet in Japan, and the guy that offered me the photo of Elijah Wood was Japanese and did not speak English. And I didn't speak Japanese, so I think I either signed Elijah Wood or I maybe wrote, 'I'm not Elijah Wood. - Daniel Radcliffe'" This got a laugh out of Barrymore, who also added how she'd bafflingly been confused with Demi Moore, star of the movie Ghost.

But that wasn't all. Radcliffe also went on to detail another instance of the same sort of mix-up. This one involved someone shouting from a car, and he seemed to like that very much due to how genuine yet fleeting the moment was. "But then a guy was driving past on the street – my favorite way to get recognized is by somebody shouting enthusiastically from a car as they continue about their day," Radcliffe explained. "It's a nice moment but nothing gets bigger and it's fine. But this guy like shouted out, 'Hey Frodo, I loved the Lord of the Rings movies' or something like that, and at that moment you go like, 'He's gonna have a really nice day if he thinks he met Frodo.' So, I was just like, 'Thanks man.'"

Considering how Wood himself compares Frodo to Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, maybe that's just Radcliffe taking a compliment where it's due. Both actors have definitely made their mark on Hollywood, and both have a particular fondness for finding weird and surreal projects in the time after their breakout roles. Radcliffe even fully admitted that playing Weird Al Yankovic was 'one of the most fun jobs' he'd ever had.

So the way he takes the confusion in stride along with his preferred method of being recognized kind of feels in character for Radcliffe. Fans might want to keep that in mind. If they see him walking down the street, don't go up to him. First, find a car, then speed by and yell something nice.
