The localized version of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc was originally released as a PS Vita exclusive. Along with Persona 4 Golden, Danganronpa was considered to be one of the best reasons to own a PS Vita. While another previous Vita exclusive in Persona 4 Golden was released on PC in 2020, fans have been able to play Danganronpa on various platforms for quite some time. All 3 mainline games are available on PC and PS4 for a few years now, and Danganronpa Decadence was released on the Switch just last month. In addition, the first two games are also available on mobile devices. While it looked like Xbox was being completely ignored by the developer, Spike Chunsoft has just made a surprising announcement that will delight Xbox fans.RELATED: Danganronpa Creative Team Announces New Dark Fantasy Game, Enigma Archives: Rain CodeThe Anniversary Edition of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is now available on Xbox consoles for $14.99. More importantly, it will be a part of Xbox Game Pass for both console and PC. The anniversary edition is not that different from the original release, with a Gallery being its main feature. This marks Danganronpa’s debut on Xbox, and ports for the entire trilogy are probably also in development.

This is not the first time a Spike Chunsoft game has appeared on Xbox, as AI: The Somnium Files was released on Xbox Game Pass in September 2021. Its sequel, AI: The Somnium Files – Nirvana Initiative, is already announced for Xbox, along with all major platforms, and is currently scheduled to release in Spring 2022. Microsoft may even decide to add Nirvana Initiative as a day 1 release to the Xbox Game Pass library.

January has already been a great month for Xbox Game Pass subscribers and at least 5 day one games are coming next week. This list includes Hitman Trilogy and Rainbow Six Extraction on January 20. Now that Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc has been released on Xbox Game Pass, fans should expect the two sequels to also launch later this year. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair is widely considered to be the best game in the series, while Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is famous for its controversial plot twists.

A recent survey hinted at Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls being released for the Switch, and it seems like Spike Chunsoft wants to make all Danganronpa games available on every platform imaginable. Unlike the main numbered games, Ultra Despair Girls is a third-person shooter, and fans should consider playing it as a palate cleanser.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is now available on PC, PS4, PS Vita, Switch, and Xbox One.
