During E3, Nintendo revealed a new trailer for Daemon X Machina showing off more of the gameplay and story of the third-person mech action game coming to the Nintendo Switch. The trailer gives a glimpse of the game’s cutscenes and more combat both on land and in the air.

The game was first revealed by Nintendo during last year’s E3, but all has been quiet about the game since then. This new explosive trailer looks to follow in the footsteps of games like Zone of the Enders with its anime-style mech action with mechs fighting bigger mechs, capital ships, and more.

The mechs are called Arsenal powered suits and are customizable in the game, able to equip different weapons on their arms and shoulders. They can also have back-up weapons that can be swapped out during battle. Players will be able to obtain weapons from defeated enemies and attach them to their Arsenal on the fly to adjust their strategy against a range of different enemies.

As can be seen in the trailer, Arsenal mechs can battle freely in the air and on the ground, as well as grab objects in the environment like cars and street signs to use as melee weapons or throw as projectiles. According to Nintendo, players will also be able to fully customize their characters as well, and the game will offer online and local multiplayer.

The game is being developed for the Nintendo Switch by developer Marvelous and has some serious talent behind it. The game is being led by designer Kenichiro Tsukuda, who worked on the popular Armored Core series, and Nintendo says he has the goal of making this game the "best mech action game" out there. The character designs were created by Yusuke Kozaki, who also worked on Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates. The game very much looks like a mash-up of Armored Core and Zone of the Enders, with Nintendo's tagline for the game being "the strategy of a mech game at the speed of an action game."

Daemon X Machina is scheduled to release September 13, 2019 exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
