A mod for Cyberpunk 2077 adds a couple of new weapons from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime. First released in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has seen a recent resurgence with the launch of Version 1.6 and the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime created by Studio Trigger. While Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners share different stories, the game and anime have enough crossover content to draw fans of the series back to playing in Night City. Recently, it was revealed that the player count for Cyberpunk 2077 had hit a milestone on Steam, showing how the game's popularity has risen again.

Even if someone who watched the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime didn't then immediately fire up the game on their console or PC, plenty have still enjoyed the series, making it a critical success. Reviews for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners praised how the anime reflected the setting and stories of Mike Pondsmith's universe and CD Projekt Red's video game. Also, many fans immediately found a fondness for the characters of the Edgerunners anime.

Two of those characters are now getting homages in Cyberpunk 2077, thanks to a couple of new mods created by Nexus Mods user walrus159. The first of these mods reskins the Unity pistol from Cyberpunk 2077, giving it a blue and black coloring to match the weapon Lucy the netrunner uses in the anime. Walrus159's second mod also adds a custom version of the Militech Omaha that reflects the guns that Rebecca wields in the anime.

Rebecca dual-wields her pistols in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, something that can't yet be done in Cyberpunk 2077. However, both of her unique, neon pistol designs are brought into the game and can be spawned directly into the player's inventory with a command found on walrus159's Nexus Mods page. Already, players can also get their hands on David Martinez's jacket from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, as CD Projekt Red included the apparel as part of its crossover update with the anime.

For any player who wants to mod Cyberpunk 2077 in different ways, there are plenty of files to download on the Cyberpunk 2077 Nexus, some of which can even add whole new areas to explore. Recently, a Cyberpunk 2077 mod added a bunch of new areas to the No-Tell Motel, further improving the immersive nature of the game's interior spaces. As well, it seems mods will become much more prominent in Cyberpunk 2077's future, as CD Projekt Red released an official modding tool for the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
