As players get access to new and better equipment in Cyberpunk 2077, they'll be constantly re-evaluating their cyberware. Enhancing V at level one feels like becoming a stronger human. Eventually, the body modifications can make V barely look or feel like a human at all.

But are there are pieces of cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077 that just make more sense in the garbage can or pawned off to a vendor? Absolutely. Anybody who comes across the following pieces can sell them guilt-free, without having to worry about what might have been and regretting it later.

10 Fortified Ankles

Cyberpunk 2077 Looking At Epic Fortified Ankles As A Replacement

The fortified ankles are awesome in theory. They can charge up and then jump very high. The epic and legendary versions also allow the player to hover in the air and reduce fall damage by 15%. It sounds like a three-for-one, but it's not as efficient as it sounds.

Players can employ a trick to completely reduce fall damage already. Charging up anything in combat is tough to justify, especially a jump. And the hover ability, while it sounds neat, is outshined by the double jump on the other cybernetic legs.

9 Titanium Bones

Cyberpunk 2077 Looking At Titanium Bones As An Upgrade Option

Carrying capacity is definitely something to consider. The Titanium bones increase the amount that can be carried anywhere between 20% and 60%. On its own, this isn't a bad upgrade, but if players pick the right body perks and are diligent about sales, Titanium Bones won't ever be useful.

Considering the alternative, holding onto Titanium Bones get even worse. Players can boost their maximum health or stamina by 60% or decrease weapon recoil. The extra carrying space is already, but this piece of cyberware is much more valuable when pawned off for eddies.

8 Maneuvering System

Cyberpunk 2077 Not Meeting The Requirements On A New Maneuvering System

Dodging in midair has a certain appeal to it. Players that invest intelligently into the technical tree might consider using something like this since they won't be incredibly mobile otherwise. The problems start to appear when considering how often this skill is useful.

Players aren't going to be spending very much time in the air to begin with. And, if they do find themselves in the air during a fight, the smartest way to avoid damage is to get down on the ground and find cover, not spending more time in the air or jumping again just to dodge.

7 Cataresist

Cyberpunk 2077 Purchasing A Legendary Cataresist

At a legendary level, the Cataresist increases resistances to all elements by 35%. That's a decent advantage and, when doubled up in both spots, can yield a 70% reduction. That's good, but it doesn't mean much since gaining total, and not partial immunity, should be a priority.

With three different cyberware pieces or clothing mods, players can not only get immunity to elemental damage but convert this damage into some sweet perks. Plus, there is an option here to reduce all damage by 10% with the Pain Editor, far better than the value on the Cataresist.

6 Bioplastic Blood Vessels

Cyberpunk 2077 Not Meeting The Requirements For The Bioplastic Blood Vessels

Nobody is going to sneeze at fifty health regeneration. Players from the best lifepath or the worst lifepath can appreciate how much health regeneration leads to survival. It's a predominant reason that each build should pick up a few of the regeneration perks in the body tree.

But the legendary Bioplastic Blood Vessels only affect gaining back health outside of combat, when it's not useful at all. Browsing the circulatory cyberware options that restore health inside of combat, there is no good reason to go with the Bioplastic Blood Vessels.

5 Tyrosine Injector

Cyberpunk 2077 Buying Cyberware From Robert

Hackers need love too, despite most cyberware options dealing directly with combat. So when the Tyrosine Injector finds its way into V's inventory, the doubling on the time window for breach protocol it provides can seem like a savvy choice.

But think about how often hackers need more time during breach protocol. Most gamers can knock out what they need in a few seconds. Also, hackers can reduce their cyberware cooldowns by 30% with the Bioconductor, so the Tyrosine Injector isn't even the best hacker modification for the slot.

4 Fuyutsuki Electronics Mk 1

Cyberpunk 2077 Getting Upgraded At A Ripperdoc

The game has two common cyberdecks. When just getting started, it's alright to use something basic, that' understandable. But the Fuyutsuki Electronics Mk 1 should be replaced with literally anything else. Its preinstalled hacks include Distract, Remote Activation, Take Control, and Steal Data, which might sound good enough.

But every other cyberdeck in the game starts with these hacks. It's also one of only two cyberdecks in the game that completely lacks quickhacks of any kind. If players need to choose between going without hacks and selling this piece, they should sell this.

3 Biotech Σ Mk 1

Cyberpunk 2077 Buying An Epic Biotech Mk 3

The Fuyutsuki Electronics Mk 1 is on this list because it has no quickhacks. The only other cyberdeck with such a failure is the Biotech Σ Mk 1. The difference is that the Biotech Σ Mk 1 is deceptive because it's listed as a snazzy "uncommon" item.

Incredibly, even the other common cyberdeck, the Militech Paraline, has quickhacks installed on it. The only difference between this and the Fuyutsuki Electronics Mk 1 is that this has breach protocol, nowhere close to a difference-maker. Sell it.

2 Mechatronic Core

Cyberpunk 2077 Finding A Legendary Mechatronic Core From A Vendor

Depending on the rarity, the Mechatronic Core will increase player damage by 10% to 50% against inorganic units. Sounds great until players look at almost any other frontal cortex slot. Hackers will want more RAM, which can instantly disable these units, rendering a 50% increase useless.

What about gunners, though? Well, considering that there are mods that add a 25% crit chance for those who need to hit that magical 100% number and a 45% crit damage for those who have already hit the perfect crit chance, the Mechatronic Core just doesn't stack up.

1 Ex-Disk

Cyberpunk 2077 Spotting A Legendary Ex Disk In A Ripperdoc Inventory

This little device occupies the same frontal cortex spot as the Mechatronic Core, so gunners are automatically going to rule it out. Hackers will see this and might be enticed by the extra RAM sticks that it adds; anywhere between one and five based on rarity.

But considering that committed hackers will be constantly needing RAM, increasing the maximum only helps out at the start of the fight. Memory Boost and RAM Upgrade both yield far more RAM over the course of a battle than the Ex-Disk does.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10th, 2020, and is available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PC.
