Cyberpunk 2077 has a cute Easter egg of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that players can see near the beginning of the game, it has been confirmed. Developer CD Projekt RED revealed a whole host of information about the game this week after revealing a new Cyberpunk 2077 trailer as part of its first Night City Wire event.

If players choose the Corpo Lifepath origin story for their version of Cyberpunk 2077 protagonist V, they'll head to work as a counter-intelligence officer at Arasaka, one of the many corporations in the game. As part of this origin mission, players will be able to poke around V's office and go through her desk drawers. In one of the drawers, players can see a copy of a retro gaming magazine with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as its game of the month. The below cover art of Ciri is on the front of the magazine.

In 2018, Game Director Adam Badowski reportedly said that he hates when Cyberpunk 2077 fans ask if Ciri will be in the game or if the worlds of The Witcher and Cyberpunk are somehow connected. Now that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been confirmed as a video game that exists and is available in Night City, this should finally put any fan theories about the series being connected to rest.

Ciri being on the cover of the magazine is unlikely to be the only Witcher 3 Easter egg that Cyberpunk 2077 players will be able to spot, though. Fans who look very closely at official artwork of Cyberpunk 2077 gang Tyger Claws will see cans of drinks with Geralt's wolf medallion on them. It's unclear if this drink will be available to purchase in the game, and if V will be able to order a cold can of Geralt soda at a nightclub.

CD Projekt RED has also shown itself to be a huge fan of Easter eggs of other pop culture icons. One piece of Cyberpunk 2077 key art features a Pulp Fiction Easter egg, the back of the Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One controller has a QR code that takes players to a track by Johnny Silverhand's band, Samurai, and the 48-minute long gameplay demo has an Easter egg of The Shining.

The Cyberpunk 2077 map may be smaller than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's but it should give fans a huge amount of things to discover. If CD Projekt RED's past behavior has shown, that will also means plenty of Easter eggs to find.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases November 19 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with Stadia and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
