A talented Cyberpunk 2077 player has used mods and their proficiency at editing to make protagonist V look like fan favorite Cyberpunk Edgerunners character Rebecca, and the results are impressive, to say the least. With several promising updates, a critically acclaimed anime, and an anticipated expansion on the horizon, Cyberpunk 2077 is enjoying a renaissance as the game experiences recognition many believe was always deserved.

Cyberpunk 2077 managed to maintain a motley of fans following the controversial launch nearly two years ago, but the once very anticipated game risked falling into relative obscurity. That was until earlier this year when a perfect storm converged consisting of consistent updates, a major expansion announcement, and an anime considered one of the best video game adaptations of all time. Cyberpunk 2077's player count skyrocketed, boasting 1 million active players each day for four consecutive weeks, registering a resurgence that many had written off. Many attributed the primary driver of this revived interest to Cyberpunk Edgerunners, an anime overseen by CD Projekt Red and produced by Studio Trigger.

In an image posted to Reddit by OrionVTuber, their V is seen posing, captured by Cyberpunk 2077's photo mode, and looking very much like an adored character from Cyberpunk Edgerunners. A short-tempered and feisty member of Maine's crew, Rebecca immediately charmed the Cyberpunk community, becoming a fan favorite virtually overnight. To achieve the appearance, the player used a dedicated Rebecca hairstyle mod and edited in-game assets with Blender to construct a face more accurate to the lovable firebrand.

She wears David's Jacket, a replica of the Cyberpunk Edgerunners protagonist's iconic outfit, which was added as part of the Edgerunners Content DLC. No doubt inspired by the gargantuan cybernetic hands that Rebecca wields in the show, the photographed V has had a ripper doc install Gorilla Arms, mechanically enhancing their limbs to be able to rip open doors.

Rebecca's shotgun was another addition Cyberpunk Edgerunners introduced. Given the fate of her character, it turned the story of Cyberpunk 2077 into a quest for revenge, elevating the sentiment surrounding one particular antagonist from ambivalence to unbridled hatred. After discovering that the recoil of Rebecca's shotgun was sufficient to prevent fall damage, a cruel and ironic allusion to the character's closing moments, many edited compilations together of making Cyberpunk 2077's final boss suffer in any conceivable manner.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Phantom Liberty DLC releases in 2023.
