During Xbox's E3 Press conference, The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red provided a new cinematic trailer for its highly anticipated title Cyberpunk 2077. The major takeaway from this trailer is that the actor Keanu Reeves would star in Cyberpunk 2077, with the John Wick star coming out afterward to speak briefly about the title and even revealed the game's release date himself.
This follows leaks of the Cyberpunk 2077 Collector's edition that helped build hype for its April 16, 2020 release date, which has proven to be accurate concerning the content that comes with the beefed-up edition. So many will likely want to clear their calendars and prepare their wallets, especially after viewing the new cinematic trailer and everything it shows off, as this game looks to live up to CD Projekt Red's legacy.
While this trailer maintains the game's mysterious allure, it does show some story and relationships between Cyberpunk 2077 characters, with the focus clearly being on the protagonist V. It appears that something has gone horribly wrong, bringing the corporate police down on the character and highlights some of the cybernetic components related to the game.
It's worth pointing out that, while the below Cyberpunk 2077 trailer focuses on a male protagonist, players will have the choice between a male or female V when the game launches. The character designs are significantly different, so those who want one or the other have multiple reasons to choose, as there will be first and last name options and branching paths. The male V is voiced by Josh Keaton, and the female V is voiced by Cherami Leigh.
Considering that Cyberpunk 2077 was considered one of the most anticipated games of E3 2019, this Xbox trailer does much to live up to that hype and expectation. With new cinematic and story tidbits revealed, with Keanu Reeves appearing in the game, and some new details sure to follow later this week, E3 2019 is clearly hitting it hard and Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the best games to do it with.
Cyberpunk 2077 releases April 16, 2020, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
