Cyberpunk 2077 is an action role-playing game with a lot of character as players are free to explore the bustling futuristic setting of Night City. Inside this place where an edge runner can get rich or become a legend, players have a wide variety of quests for them to complete in order to earn a couple of extra credits or even a friend.

Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red bit off a little more than it could chew during this project, which caused many of the storylines available in the game to be shortened in order for it to make its release. This left many quests in the game, although entertaining, unfulfilled with abrupt endings that many players wish they could learn more about.

8 River Finally Getting His Revenge

A disappointment many players have had with Cyberpunk 2077 that they are hoping will be improved is how long the romances or bonds with characters' quests go on. River Ward is a case of this. After helping him free his nephew from a sadistic kidnapper and killer in "The Hunt," many players expected to then go on to help River deal with this killer once and for all.

Instead, River does this alone and the next time the player sees this man is when they are eating dinner with him and his sister's family. It is unfortunate that players couldn't be there for him during this situation even if he decided to not kill the person in the end as well as being able to see River more after this quest.

7 Come Back Takemura

As a key element of the main story helping V search for clues on how to remove the biochip safely from their skull it's surprising to see how he suddenly disappears midway through. Players were warned that the story of Cyberpunk has been shorted due to complaints that The Witcher 3 was too long, though this left many to consider if it was for the best.

The player has the choice to go back and save Takemura in the "Search and Destroy" quest, though it all seems for naught as after this point V and Goro Takemura go their separate ways. It would have been nice for him to have his own separate side quests away from the main story so that players could learn more about the ex-bodyguard of Saburo Araska.

6 Kold Mirage Could Have Been More

Dex DeShawn lies dead in front of the refrigerator players must go to in the Cyberpunk 2077 quest called Kold Mirage

Bartmoss is the lore of Cyberpunk 2077 was a critically acclaimed and infamous netrunner that was known for the DataKrash as well as being the one to kill the Net in the 21st century. However, when the player finds him, he's dead in a refrigerator in the middle of a trash heap.

Although comical being found this way, when returning the data to Nix, all the player gets in return is a couple of quick hacks for their service. Nothing of value is gained from this quest, which suggests that this could be one of many that had to be shortened as few quests explore the net.

5 Clouds Deserved More Time

Judy in Cyberpunk 2077

Another case of a character's quest line being shortened is with Judy in relation to the dollhouse called Clouds. This doesn't mean that players didn't enjoy Judy's quest line as it is by far one of the most fun activities to complete, especially with how it ties into the main story, though it could have been longer.

After helping the dolls gain their freedom from the Tyger Claws, players find out from Judy that this was short-lived as the Tyger Claws got their revenge killing some of those at the building. Players would expect to go on to help Judy solve this issue but instead, nothing else is done about the matter and V must continue with the main story.

4 What Became Of Lizzy Wizzy

Fully converting to chrome has its issues according to the quest "Violence," where V is hired to find out if the singer Lizzy Wizzy's boyfriend is cheating on her. Players instead discover that he has attempted to have a copy of Lizzy's mind saved, and he worries that she has been changed by her metal body.

It would seem that he isn't wrong, as telling Lizzy the truth results in her later calling V to help her get rid of the body of her boyfriend, as she has killed him. That is where the quest concludes, though many hoped for more to do with this iconic character as they wonder what was really happening to her.

3 The Organization Behind The Polls

Mr. Blue Eyes is a man that is only mentioned twice in the entirety of Cyberpunk 2077, however, his mystery makes him incredibly interesting to players, especially the organization he works for. While helping Jefferson Peralez, the player will come to discover Mr. Blue Eyes and his organization that is mind-controlling both Jefferson and his wife.

They threaten V to not mess with things they don't understand. However, the player is never able to understand who he is as that is exactly where the quest ends. Players hoped that this quest line continued further to meet Mr. B instead of one of the game's endings.

2 VooDoo Boys Vs. NetWatch

Placide talking to a woman in Cyberpunk 2077

Pacifica feels incredibly underused in Cyberpunk 2077. While many of the other areas of Night City are filled with countless gigs and other side quests for players to enjoy, these are few and far between in Pacifica, the home of the VooDoo Boys.

Players only get to experience a brief moment of the tension between this gang and the organization known as NetWatch during the main story. Many players wish that this had been expanded upon further, especially in the case of Placide, a member of the gang which many assumed would have a larger role to play as well as getting back at NetWatch.

1 Living Another Life Path

Cyberpunk 2077 Life Paths

In the early days of Cyberpunk 2077, players expected that the life paths they were able to choose from would have an even larger impact on the game. As development progressed these life paths became less and less significant to V and instead only changed certain dialogue options.

Besides the prologue of the game, this life path was still allowed one quest of its own in Night City, though it doesn't really lead anywhere. Players wish that they had more chances to experience their life path in Night City, such as getting their revenge on a personal level with Araska as a Corpo or learning what happened to the Bakkers as a Nomad.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC.
