Cyberpunk 2077 players can now invest in Arasaka and dozens of other dystopian corporations thanks to a newly released mod that adds a full-fledged stock market to the PC version of the game. Veteran Cyberpunk 2077 modders keanuWheeze and scornthegreat released their latest creation via Nexus Mods earlier today, complete with a comprehensive changelog detailing its many features.

CD Projekt Red launched its official modding tools for Cyberpunk 2077 shortly after the RPG's late 2020 debut, while it was still frantically fixing bugs in an effort to mitigate the public backlash prompted by the buggy state of the game. And while a lot of its initial post-launch focus was directed toward fixing the performance on last-generation consoles, the online modding community went to work on expanding the PC version of the game.

The latest addition to the growing range of custom expansions for Cyberpunk 2077 comes in the form of a Stock Market and News System mod, which adds a stock exchange tab to every PC terminal in the game. From there, players can research and invest in 33 corpos previously established by the official game lore, as well as browse news relevant to changes in their portfolio's valuation. Similar to the GTA 5 stock market feature, certain news items will only be triggered by completing story missions, with their contents and stock price effects being dependent on players' choices during quests.

KeanuWheeze has already put out over a dozen other mods for Cyberpunk 2077, developing features ranging from cheat-like abilities such as flying to stylistic enhancements like replacing fast travel loading screens with dynamic camera transitions in the style of GTA 5. The final portion of their portfolio is all about expanding the game's content with the additions of retro Tetris arcades, Cyberpunk 2077's very own metro train system, or this newly launched stock market platform.

As far as the PC version of the game is concerned, a vibrant modding community is a big part of the reason why CDPR managed to turn things around with its dystopian RPG following its buggy release. The fact that Cyberpunk 2077 Steam reviews are 90% positive nowadays is illustrative of that comeback, which required regular bug fixes and the occasional free content drop in the form of new quests and items, among other things.

And while that side of development is still ongoing, the game's much-improved public perception has also encouraged CDPR to redirect a portion of its resources toward creating some premium content for Cyberpunk 2077. The first such expansion was announced back in September, though it was only a few days ago that CDPR confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be paid DLC.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Stadia version will remain playable until the service shuts down on January 18, 2023.
