Cyberpunk 2077 is a giant game with dozens of hours of side content for players to adventure through. From completing side missions to hunting down cars to buy, Night City is full of obvious goals and well-hidden secrets. One of these hidden secrets is a rare gun with a unique personality that is sure to give players a memorable Cyberpunk 2077 experience.

There are six weapons in Cyberpunk 2077 that are special, or at least more so than others. These uniquely named iconic weapons provide extra bonuses and can be acquired throughout the game at any level. While several of them are found during certain missions, one is a reward for players to decide to dig through some trash. This gun is named Skippy and it drastically affects pacifist or reckless playthroughs of the game.

What is Skippy

Skippy is a unique Smart pistol that scales to the player’s level, making it effective at any point in the game. It has a sale price of $75 if players want to get rid of this Cyberpunk 2077 item. Skippy comes equipped with a user-interface in the form of a holographic bullet with arms and glasses. Skippy has two modes: Stone Cold Killer and Puppy-Loving Pacifist. The first mode makes the gun aim exclusively for headshots, while the second mode aims lower on targets for non-lethal damage.

Where to Get Skippy

This Cyberpunk 2077 secret is well-hidden, but Skippy can be acquired in an alley near the College Street metro station in Heywood. As players approach this alley, they will see the optional mission mark on their map. There is a dead body near the trash with an open briefcase beside it. All the player has to do is check the briefcase and take Skippy.

Changing Skippy’s Name

There is an interesting mechanic that players have discovered in regard to changing Skippy’s name. Rather than allowing the player to rename the gun the way that so much of Cyberpunk 2077 can be customized, Skippy instead will reject the request and claim the player doesn’t have the correct administrator rights to do so. The gun will even raise its speaking volume by 300% to make sure the player hears correctly that the name cannot be changed. Players haven’t discovered if this means there is a secret way to change the name, but the likely scenario is that it just can’t be changed ever.

How to Return Skippy

If the player decides that they are done with this strange Cyberpunk 2077 weapon and would instead like some cash, there is a mission that allows Skippy to be returned to its rightful owner. After some dialogue, Skippy will eventually reveal that the original owner of the gun is a person named Regina Jones. The player will then get an optional mission to return Skippy to this person. The reward for giving Skippy back is a cash reward as well as some peace and quiet.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. It will be released later on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
