After seven years of anticipation, the dystopian first-person world of Cyberpunk 2077 is finally due to arrive on current gen systems in November this year. As part of the growing hype, developers CD Projekt Red have today announced a stylish partnership with Secretlab, manufacturer of award-winning gaming chairs.

The slick neon yellow and black versions of Secretlab’s OMEGA and TITAN chairs include turquoise stitching and other Cyberpunk 2077 related touches, and are available in limited quantities right now. They will be released more widely in November, alongside the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions of the game. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions are due for release in 2021, but the new machines will play the current-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 in the meantime.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been making waves for including the voice and motion captured likeness of Keanu Reeves, whose character Johnny Silverhand plays with "Chrome Rock" band Samurai. The chairs feature Samurai’s flaming logo (which also features on the jacket of the main protagonist, V) across the back, as well as other design touches related to the world of Night City. These include a barcode, and "cybernetic augmentation slots."

From a comfort and posture perspective, these chairs will feature the full length reclinable back-rest, "4D" armrests with metal internals, and the "Patent-pending Secretlab Cold-Cure Foam Mix" that accompanies their 2020 Series products.

These new chairs add to a growing range of Cyberpunk 2077 related merchandise and tie-ins. As well as a Collector’s edition of the game, there will be a Cyberpunk Edgerunners Anime series on Netflix, a comic book series and 192 page art book, both published by Dark Horse, a Cyberpunk themed Xbox One X, and more, including action figures. Secretlab has a number of other entertainment related special editions, including Overwatch and Dota 2, but the bright neon yellow colour makes this edition stand out even more.

With the critically acclaimed The Witcher series, Polish based CD Projekt Red has shown a knack for well thought out open worlds, with absorbing characters and gameplay. This, along with its protracted development time, has led to the almost unprecedented amount of hype for Cyberpunk 2077, and the accompanying merchandise. Even so, it remains to be seen whether the game can live up to its increasingly huge billing.

However, given the excellent reviews for Secretlab’s 2020 range of gaming chairs. Fans can be sure that they won’t be lacking for comfort when they start their adventure among the gangs of Night City.

The Cyberpunk 2077 edition Secretlab chairs are available now in limited quantities.
