CD Projekt Red fans have been waiting years for Cyberpunk 2077, and it's inarguably one of the most highly-anticipated game release of the entire year. As is common with massive games like Cyberpunk 2077, its release date has been pushed back multiple times, but the November 19 release date seemed set in stone. Unfortunately for fans who were looking forward to playing the game on November 19, CD Projekt Red has now confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077 release date has been delayed yet again.

The new Cyberpunk 2077 release date is December 10. According to a statement from the company, the reason for this latest delay is the challenge of shipping the game for not just current-generation consoles, but for next-generation consoles, Stadia, and PC as well. While Cyberpunk 2077's next-gen version won't be out until 2021, CD Projekt Red still has to test to make sure the game runs properly through the PS5 and Xbox Series X backward compatibility programs.

Some fans may be confused about this latest Cyberpunk 2077 delay. After all, CD Projekt Red previously announced that Cyberpunk 2077 had gone gold, which typically means that fans don't have to worry about any additional delays. In its statement, CD Projekt Red explains that Cyberpunk 2077 is completed in terms of having all its content in it, but there is still room for improvement when it comes to "raising the quality bar." CD Projekt Red stated it undercalculated the work that still needed to be done in these final days of development.

"We feel we have an amazing game on our hands and are willing to make every decision, even the hardest ones, if it ultimately leads to you getting a video game you'll fall in love with," CD Projekt Red explained. So while some fans will understandably be upset that Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed yet again, others will be understanding that this decision was made to ensure that the game is as of the highest quality possible.

In the meantime, there are still plenty of big game releases planned for November 2020, and the Cyberpunk 2077 delay, while disappointing, may give these games some time to shine. Numerous new games will be releasing alongside the Xbox Series X and PS5 consoles on November 10 and 12 respectively, so gamers should have no shortage of games to play while they wait for Cyberpunk 2077 to finally launch.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches December 10 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
