This week, most game developers celebrated Valentine's Day by releasing new cosmetics (Apex Legends) or by hosting special events (Pokemon GO). Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED also wanted to get in on the fun, and the resulting Valentine's Day message has fans speculating wildly.

To celebrate the most romantic day of the year, the official Cyberpunk 2077 account shared an image of a cybernetically modified bounty hunter named "Cupid." Ditching the traditional bow and arrow for a semi-automatic rifle, the Cyberpunk 2077 character looks better equipped to cause mayhem in Night City than get people falling in love. While many fans of the developer were happy to see CD Projekt RED post something for Valentine's Day, further analysis of Cupid's weapon led to speculation about the Cyberpunk 2077 release date.

There are multiple numbers found on Cupid's weapon, including the main part of the rifle and on its scope. Just below Cupid's nose, the number "69" can be seen. On the scope of the weapon, there are several figures, but the numbers "112" are what stand out.

The number 69 may stand for Sunday, June 9, which would be just two days before the official start of E3 2019. Microsoft traditionally holds its E3 press conference on a Sunday and its E3 2018 press conference featured a Cyberpunk 2077 trailer. While, the numbers 112 may refer to the game's release date, or is it when another major Cyberpunk 2077 announcement will be made?

And that's if the numbers mean anything at all. The 69 meme is incredibly popular and the floods of replies from fans saying "nice" reflect that CD Projekt RED knows its audience well. Likewise, the numbers on the scope of the weapon could just be a standard ammo count rather than a teaser for some kind of announcement.

Whatever the numbers do (or don't) mean, it wouldn't be the first time that CD Projekt RED has got fans speculating with its social media posts. Last year, fans wondered if the game would feature music from Lady Gaga because the Cyberpunk 2077 account responded to a very old tweet posted by the pop star and actress. The Twitter account also teased the game was about to be re-revealed at E3 2018, but whether something comes out of this tweet as well remains to be seen.

Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but the game has yet to receive an official release date.
