Several days ago, CD Projekt Red announced that it would share PlayStation gameplay footage of its upcoming sci-fi RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. Now, the studio just released the preview of the highly-anticipated game giving players a sneak peek at how Cyberpunk 2077 will run on the PlayStation 5.

Given that the latest footage is promoting the PS5 version of the game, the trailer swapped back and forth between the PS4 Pro and the PS5, showcasing all the major differences between Sony's current-gen and next-gen consoles. The gameplay trailer begins with scenes captured from the PS4 Pro, and while Cyberpunk 2077 looks good on the current-gen hardware, its transition to the PS5 around the 4:30 mark is where players will notice the vastly improved visuals running on the next-gen console.

Additionally, it is worth noting that ever since Cyberpunk 2077 went gold in October, CD Projekt Red has been working on various fixes and graphical improvements, which will all be rolled into the day one patch of the game. Moreover, the latest preview showed the current state of Cyberpunk 2077, from character creation to a quick preview of its gameplay from the Nomad lifepath perspective. Overall, the preview featured relaxed gameplay, but it picks up in action towards the end during a scene showing the Max Tac police chasing a gang of carjackers.

It's worth remembering that the latest gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 for the PS5 released a week after CD Projekt Red shared new footage of the game for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Similar to the latest trailer, the Xbox preview also shifted between consoles, showcasing all the major differences in terms of graphics and performance between the Xbox One and Xbox Series X. The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to release in 2021, but the exact date remains a mystery. However, players should note that CD Projekt Red will offer players an upgrade from current-gen to next-gen without additional cost, so players shouldn't worry about getting the Xbox One and PS4 versions at launch while waiting for its next-gen counterparts.

Despite the game's latest delay that pushed back its release date to December 10th, the hype for Cyberpunk 2077 remains high. Several weeks ago, rumors surfaced that the game will suffer another delay that will push its release date to 2021. However, CD Projekt Red immediately dispelled these reports by stating that Cyberpunk 2077 will release as scheduled.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release December 10, 2020, for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with a free next-gen upgrade planned for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
