CD Projekt RED has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will offer its own version of the popular Priscilla concert from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. However, the developer of the sci-fi RPG said that fans should expect much more from the Cyberpunk 2077's take on the fan favorite idea.
This week, Cyberpunk 2077 music director Marcin Przybyłowicz and the game's lead quest designer Paweł Sasko were on Polish rock music radio station Antyradio.pl. The interview, which was done in Polish, was later translated by fans. Translation threads on social media confirm that Przybyłowicz and Sasko teased a Cyberpunk 2077 version of the Priscilla concert, but in the sci-fi RPG it would be much bigger and greater.
In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, protagonist Geralt is able to sit in a tavern and enjoy Priscilla's performance as she sings and plays a lute. The song is an emotional one and fans, who have looked closely at the lyrics, say that Prisicilla's song is likely about Geralt and Yennefer, one of his love interests. On social media, fans seem to be delighted at the suggestion that Cyberpunk 2077 could also have an intimate, musical moment like that.
CD Projekt RED has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will have romance and that there will be many love interests for players to talk to. This means that if someone is going to write a romantic ballad about protagonist V and a love interest, they will have a good amount of source material.
If the music performance in Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be bigger than Priscilla's concert in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, then some fans have suggested that it could be a punk rock gig where V gets to perform too. Keanu Reeves' character Johnny Silverhand is a popular rockstar in the game and as Silverhand and V have such a close relationship, they may want to duet for an incredible rock performance.
There is potential for this fan idea to happen. Johnny Silverhand has the second most lines of any character in the game, with Cyberpunk 2077 protagonist V having the most dialogue, so Reeves' character may star in this scene too. Keanu Reeves is also a talented musician and played bass in Dogstar, an alternative rock band that was active between 1991 and 2002. Reeves has said that CD Projekt RED doesn't want him to sing in the game, but as the motion capture actor for Johnny Silverhand, he may be part of a performance.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on April 16, 2020 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
