Even after a year and a half, it's tough to bring up a discussion on Cyberpunk 2077 without at least giving passing thought to the disaster that was its initial launch. While recent events have come to light which suggest that CD Projekt Red may not have been fully responsible for Cyberpunk 2077's bugs, there are still plenty of people who are having a hard time letting go. Still, there's no denying that things have significantly improved since December 2020, but there's evidently one feature that fans would like to see get added.

From a recent post on the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit, it seems that, of all the things the developer could have added to the game, fans are puzzled that one feature wasn't implemented from the start. When players customize V's clothes, there is no option to preview any of the potential new threads. Instead, items need to be purchased before the player can see how their character looks in their new clothes. Comments in the thread agree with the sentiment that this is quite a large oversight and that having to buy the clothes only to find out they look ugly on V is something that could be prevented with a preview feature.

Of course, there are mods for Cyberpunk 2077 which can rectify this, such as one called "Virtual Atelier," as pointed out by user efvie, but it does seem a little odd that CDPR didn't think to add this in from the very beginning. Whether the ability to preview clothes before buying them will get put in eventually remains to be seen, but hopefully the studio will see fit to implement the feature in a future update. For now, users like Zebra-Tux say they have to quicksave the game before choosing clothing items so they can reload if they don't like what they've purchased.

Cyberpunk 2077 has so many clothes to choose from, which is just one of the ways that CDPR has created a living, breathing world for the player to get lost in. There's a lot to see and do in Night City, and customization is a big plus in a huge game like this, and it seems as though what these fans want isn't really a big ask.

With the studio supposedly hard at work on some DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, there is an opportunity to really make amends for what first hit stores and digital shelves 18 months ago. Being able to preview clothes before purchasing them may sound like just a small thing, but if CD Projekt Red is going to be making improvements to the game at regular intervals, this one would likely go down well with the community.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
