A YouTuber has used PS4 exclusive game Dreams to show what CD Projekt RED's sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077 would look like as a PlayStation One game. The video takes the footage from the first Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay trailer from Gamescom 2018 and the E3 2019 trailer to give fans an idea of how the game may look if it was released 20 years ago.

The video has been created by Bearly Regal, the same YouTuber who showed what Death Stranding could look like as a PS1 game. In the Cyberpunk 2077 video, viewers can get a tour of a dingy Night City bar, walking past some shifty-looking NPCs. Later in the video, the character makes their way to a busy city street, looking at floating vehicles as they drive past piles of trash heaped by the side of the road.

There's also a PS1 version of Keanu Reeves' character Johnny Silverhand, who looks just as stylish and effortlessly cool in a low resolution as he did in the video shown at E3. "You're breathtaking," says the PS1 character, which is what Keanu Reeves said to a fan while presenting the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer on stage at E3.

The video is some great work from the YouTuber, who has also shown off design talented with a LEGO version of a battle royale game. There are also some clips in the video as Bearly Regal explains how it was created. PS1 developers would give the idea of a 3D model by using several 2D models and that's what the YouTuber has done here. The creator didn't just make it look like it's in a low resolution.

There are several comments on the YouTube video from happy fans praising Bearly Regal's work. One comment, from a YouTuber user named Prelmable suggests that the Cyberpunk 2077 PS1 video looks better than most PS1 games. "Filtered textures, unwarped polygons, light/shadow system, 2-frame character animations," are in this video but not in PS1 games. Another YouTuber user says that this looks more like a PS2 game than a PS1 title.

However, Bearly Regal welcomes constructive criticism and says that this is just a "small update" that's been designed as a teaser for a larger Cyberpunk 2077 PS1 demo. The YouTuber hasn't revealed when the full demo may be released but with CD Projekt RED planning to share more Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay after Gamescom 2019 next month, Bearly Regal will have some more new source material to work from.
