Cyberpunk 2077’s official release is just a few days away and the anticipation for the game could not be any higher. Though, players should be extremely cautious when searching about the game online, as spoilers for Cyberpunk 2077 are everywhere across the internet.

Now, players who have pre-loaded the game on their systems of choice are just waiting to dive into the game after years and years of waiting. However, those who try to load into the game early might receive a funny in-game message from one of Cyberpunk 2077’s main characters, Johnny Silverhand.

Pre-loads have finally begun for Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox platforms, though players playing on PlayStation consoles will have to wait one extra day before they can begin their pre-load. Global pre-load times for Cyberpunk 2077 on PC occur on December 7 across all available storefronts, such as GOG, Epic Games store, and Steam. While having that Cyberpunk 2077 icon sitting on player’s consoles or library is incredibly taunting, it’s very reassuring to know that a large bulk of the game’s download is already finished. Interestingly, players who try to load into Cyberpunk 2077 early after pre-loaded the game may be greeted by a funny message from one of the game’s main cast.

Players who are trying to load into Cyberpunk 2077 before the December 10 release date are being greeted with a message by none other than Johnny Silverhand himself. Upon booting up the game, Keanu Reeves' Cyberpunk 2077 character will say the message, “Go back to sleep, Samurai. It isn’t December 10th yet!” Players across social media platforms and message boards like Reddit have posted screenshots of the amusing Easter Egg. It’s a nice little surprise from CD Projekt Red that sort of pokes fun at the high anticipation that players around the world are feeling in the leadup to Cyberpunk 2077’s release date.

Of course, players won’t be able to immediately jump into Cyberpunk 2077 once December 10 rolls around. Like nearly every major AAA title today, Cyberpunk 2077 has a day one patch that players will have to download first before jumping in. The day one patch is naturally pretty large, so those with slower internet speeds should be aware that it might take some time to download. Though day one patches can be frustrating, it’s a necessary step that developers have to take to ensure they deliver the best experience possible on release day.

Unfortunately, in the days leading up to the game’s release, more and more aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 begin to leak. Recently, images of Cyberpunk 2077’s map leaked online. Thankfully, the images did not spoil any story details, it did completely show off the full in-game map and a variety of markers for various things. Players looking to go into Cyberpunk 2077 fresh should definitely be wary of where they search online. Thankfully, those who pre-loaded the game only have to wait until December 10, as Johnny Silverhand advises.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to launch on December 10th, 2020, for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions currently in development.
