The Game Awards is hours away, as of this writing, meaning all the rumors and leaks for the shows are hitting the fever pitch, and according to one source (who has a shaky track record), Cyberpunk 2077's DLC will make an appearance there. This would no doubt be an exciting reveal, given the game's renewed popularity, and it would fit in with the other high-profile rumors and leaks for The Game Awards. In Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty DLC, V somehow gets involved in the Pacifica Combat Zone and ends up pledging allegiance to the New United States of America. It's uncertain when this takes place, but it's unlikely to be beside the main story unless the New US offers V some cure for their pending doom. Either way, fans will be able to check out this DLC, which is described as a spy-thriller, story sometime in 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. This DLC is skipping the PS4 and Xbox One.RELATED: CD Projekt Red Explains Why Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer was ScrappedCyberpunk 2077 being there comes from Tyler McVicker, a leaker who has revealed insider information from Valve, CD Projekt Red, and other companies like Rockstar ahead of time, but it's worth highlighting that this track record for this stuff is spottier than some leakers. Fans should, as always, treat this information with a grain of salt then, even if McVicker has this information on "very good authority." That said, there's no doubt having a Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty trailer at The Game Awards would be more than welcome. Fans have had a basic look and a basic plot summary so far, so it's about time more is shown.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release in 2023, but that's a wide release window. Given how many release date leaks (like Final Fantasy 16) have appeared before The Game Awards, it wouldn't be surprising to hear one on this. But, of course, not everything there will be getting a release date and perhaps Cyberpunk 2077's DLC should be one of those that don't.

After all, the constant delays of Cyberpunk 2077 and subsequent, terrible launch are still engraved in fans. A release date announcement followed by an eventual delay could take fans back to the same mind space, so it would be understandable if CDPR held off on a release date until it was 100% certain.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Phantom Liberty DLC is in development for 2023.
