Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most talked about games when it released late 2020. The highly anticipated open world game by CD Projekt Red excited fans for its atmosphere and roots in the tabletop RPG space. However, the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was rife with controversial issues, and the new 1.2 patch brings some more bugs along with the fixes.

The infamous title released with a plethora of troubles, to the point where it was even removed from the PlayStation Store. Omnipresent bugs like visual glitches, strange animations, and questionable AI are particularly noticeable. Since launch, the developers have put out updates attempting to improve the experience and quell frustrated players. But with all the tweaks in the 1.2 patch, CD Projekt Red managed to create additional issues.

It may be surprising to gamers that some of these new bugs can be just as extreme. For instance, one that is impossible to ignore involves the weather in Night City. Reddit user AugustusUwU put up a video where a permanent sandstorm covers the entire locale. Another clip showcases how the AI in Cyberpunk 2077 is still far from perfect. JoakoLP's Reddit post gives a look at a rather silly NCPD AI driving around in circles and through barricades, even with the major changes to the police system.

Players continued to thrash the 1.2 patch in the game's subreddit with more video evidence of glitches. Another user, levihed61, posted some gameplay where held weapons are completely invisible. Though viewers will quickly forget about that when viewing the horrifyingly blurry face textures of enemies. Even more bizarre are numerous instances of flashing clothing textures and the motorcycle speedometer projecting to a roadside billboard.

Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red's development on the sci fi game continues to be rocky at best. No matter how many bugs the team tries to squash, it seems like fans are always able to find some new ones to post. That said, update 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 does fix hundreds of problematic aspects as seen in the full patch notes. The main character, V, can finally sleep correctly in bed and the NCPD spawn radius is increased when players commit a crime. Plus, there seems to be optimization fixes for next generation consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

For many players, it may just be too late for the developers to salvage the game. It still remains unavailable on the PlayStation Store to this day, which also hinders those looking to jump in. It sounds like the team is reconsidering the multiplayer mode too, implying that post launch content could be scaling down. That said, other titles have come back from damaging launches, and with CD Projekt Red sticking to patches, Cyberpunk 2077 should get smoother over time.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S currently in development.
