Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to release today, until CD Projekt Red announced three weeks ago that the game would be delayed until December. To make up for it, the developer unveiled a bevy of new Cyberpunk 2077 information today, including an in-depth gameplay trailer.

The trailer was part of CD Projekt Red’s fifth Night City Wire, which focused on the music of Cyberpunk 2077 and explored the backstory of Johnny Silverhand, the rocker voiced by Keanu Reeves. The information dump comes after nearly two weeks of mostly silence following the announcement that Cyberpunk 2077 would be delayed a third time. The company has since unveiled a single by Run the Jewels that was made for Cyberpunk 2077, and set up today’s Night City Wire event.

The five-minute long trailer showcases several new gameplay elements of Cyberpunk 2077, including customization, body modifications, clothing, and new locations - with an underwater sequence. The trailer opens with V and a few other characters in an aircraft of some kind that is under attack. Players have seen sequences of V inside aerial vehicles before, such as in the opening of the corpo life path. However, it seems that players will only get to ride in aircraft vehicles, as CD Projekt Red confirmed that flying vehicles cannot be piloted in Cyberpunk 2077.

Until now, CD Projekt Red had given no indication of any underwater sequences in Cyberpunk 2077, but the new trailer confirms that players will get to explore the waters around Night City. It is not known if the underwater gameplay that was shown is exclusive to a single mission, or if players will get to take a dive whenever they wish.

The trailer also gave fans a look at some of the cyberware enhancements that will be available to V, which are divided are into six categories: frontal cortex, ocular system, circulatory system, immune system, nervous system, and integumentary system. It is a safe bet that each of these categories will have their own enhancements giving V various upgrades and abilities related to organ system.

Perks were also shown in the trailer, including perks for rifles, handguns, and blades. It seems these perks are tied into the reflex attribute, which suggests that each attribute will have their own perk trees.

Lastly, players were given a glimpse at the various clothing options that will be available for V. At least 36 jackets were shown at the end of the trailer, each with their own unique appearance. It is likely that these are only a few of the clothing options available, as CD Projekt Red has said that appearance and style play an important role in Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases December 10 on PC, PS4, Stadia and Xbox One, and PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
